I remember when they were building it, and I can remember going opening week with my parents when I was 21... our room overlooked the pool area and I can remember thinking that this was the most amazing pool area of any hotel ever. And the lobby absolutely blew my mind the first time that I walked in there. We had a great experience that trip. Unfortunately, that is the only time that I have stayed there. I've been there to eat, but never again to stay. Waaaaaay to expensive for me. But maybe someday...

Happy Birthday, WL!! Favorite resort I have stayed in to date (just edges out the Poly due to it's price!) Can't wait to stay there in November! The hallway leading from the lobby down to Roaring Forks is my favorite place in the whole resort (weird, I know!) lol but between the smells, the view of the courtyard and the lights streaming in through the windows, it just screams "I'M AT DISNEY!!!" for me!

Love the indoor stream in the lobby. The sound, the sight, maybe even the smells!

We love the WL (2nd on our list of resorts, Boardwalk Inn is #1). This was #1 until we stayed at the BI. Love to sit early am in the lobby reading and drinking my tea. They have the best Christmas decorations out of all the resorts in the non gingerbread decorations. Best gift shop also.

We love the WL! Now that the DVC Studios can hold a family of 5, we'll be back there in 2015! First time back since 2009. Missed the ole gal!

We will be there for 1 night post cruise November 15. This is the first time we haven't had APs so we're just going to hang around the pool, have some drinks and hit up Cali Grill for dinner and Wishes. I figured a deluxe would be the way to go since we will be spending pretty much the entire time at the resort

My wife and I made or first visit to WDW together in 1994 and we stayed at the then Dixie landing. We checked out the Wilderness which had just opened and said, "next year we're staying here" and we did. We have stayed there several times since and always enjoyed it.

I remember our stay at Fort Wilderness back in 93.....and driving past all the signs promoting the "coming soon" Wilderness Lodge. Now that I've stayed there about 4 times now, it was well worth the wait and still is.
