With Disneyland Paris announcing the closure date and re-theme of Rock N Roller Coaster, is WDW next?

Thematically RNRC was not as well done (the whole park really). The pre show when I was there didn't have a story line like Florida. Truthfully many rides were closed this month for "refurbs". The main sit down restaurants were closed too. It would be better to close the place in January and February and do the refurbs. A discount should have been offered for this time of year for so much not being open. The weather was crummy, basically a ghost town. Not fun riding outdoor coasters in frigid temps. Or walking around the parks this time a year. I guess the one positive no one was there.

I'm curious as to what difference you found since they're practically identical, even down to the preshow. I found the Paris version slightly rougher, but there really isn't any difference in the rides.

I actually really enjoyed WDSP, though it was pretty small for a Disney Park. They're already working on a big time change to that with all of the additions coming- Frozen, Star Wars and Marvel. It should match up much better after that.

I thought the pre-show felt rushed (we did RnRC during an early open, so maybe that was why?) and it isn’t explaining the limo at all, the load zone was just “meh”, and for whatever reason I didn’t get any rush from the on-board music, which seemed quiet to me. The roller coaster itself was smooth and enjoyable, but something is off/incongruent overall.

I totally agree on the expansion. When complete, WDSP will actually be slightly larger, by acreage, than Disneyland Parc, and will add some much-needed rides.

Other than if one of Aerosmith's members passes away or they retire (which doesn't seem to be happening for at least a few years), why is a retheme NECESSARY? The ride always has a long wait. If people are riding it in large numbers, I don't see a need to try and attract more people to it. Especially since SWGE will bring plenty of crowds to the park, there is no need to attract more people in the next 3-4 years.

RNRC would be so easy to re-theme, I would be surprised if a re-theme to a Disney IP wasn't at least be considered.

Just as newspapers have pre-written “In Memorium” articles (that get accidentally released from time to time) I’d be surprised if Disney didn’t have a retheme - or at least an alternate pre-show - in the can. When Tyler passes it would be kind of eerie to continue the current pre-show (less so the others who would be less obvious).

You mean like Journey Into Imagination where you have large portraits of actors who have passed?
Still there.

These threads pop up every time something happens internationally. And the ultimate answer to most of these threads is "no."

Just because a sister attraction is getting re-themed doesn't mean the Orlando counterpart is.

Especially when it's a MARVEL IP, and it's been recited time and time again that the majority of MARVEL IPs in Orlando are firmly located at IOA for the foreseeable future.

Exactly!! Why can't we accept the fact that an attraction could stay how it is even though another version of the ride is closing.

I swear, if the members of this forum competed in the Olympics their sport of choice would be jumping to conclusions.
