It used to be that a girl would not even consider going into a church without something on her head. It would not be unusual to see a girl with a folded tissued pinned in her hair, if she had nothing better.

We would wear something like this for First Communion (age 8).
After that, we would remove the crown and wear the veil whenever we went to Church with our class. (On Sundays we would wear hats.)
We also kept these little things called chapel caps for unexpected trips to church during school hours.

We stopped having Latin Masses after Vatican II. That was good.

We did.
Navy jumpers and white blouses.
The boys wore navy pants, white shirts and navy ties.

Used to be that schools either had navy or maroon jumpers.
Those were pretty much it as far as the choices went.
Now there are many different styles.
