Wishes

Welp not so much google is our friend

"But to set the record straight—the voice you hear in the Wishes Fireworks show is that of Charity Farris, a child voice-over talent who is alive and well today."

I think i'll choose to believe a guest service manager who was there the night that Wishes debuted and met the family over the info in your link.Even if untrue. I like the story. Thanks though. Every single other myth in that link is 100% untrue though.

You can believe what you want it's simply untrue. Google her every source says it was her. Not some made up sob story. Refusing the truth doesn't make it real just makes you spreading lies...

I love wishes and hope it never gets replaced. I do have some things I'd change though. We went last holiday season and FP for wishes took up any good area to watch. That's absurd. First come first serve should always be the way for shows. I'd also recommend earlier times. Maybe this is changing with the electrical parade gone and I don't know, but when you have a small child at the park having shows at 10:00 is too late.

I hope they don't make it earlier than 10. My opinion- it's vacation, let the kids stay up late. Even at home if you're at an amusement park- stay for the fireworks. :).
For a good portion of the year it wouldn't even be dark enough to do it before 10, and we have to have time for the EWP to go first!

Fast pass reservations have been scrapped.
How quickly do the old Wishes FP areas fill up now that it's open season? I used a FP once for Wishes, and I didn't really think it was worth it-people were standing up along the front wall, so the rest of us sitting behind them couldn't see anything during Celebrate The Magic, or any of the castle lighting effects during Wishes.

I couldn't be a bigger fan of Wishes. It's one of my favorite things in all of Walt Disney World (if not my absolute favorite). I really do think it's one of the best nighttime shows Disney has ever done and it will definitely break my heart to see it go when they decide to change it. I personally think that Wishes is far more magical than Fantasy in the Sky was, so I hope that when the time does come for Wishes to end that they keep the same spirit alive in the next show. :)

As I understand it Wishes could be replaced within two years.

Could be, but WDW has - until recently - had a tendency to back away from change. It would make sense to have a new show, given that the 50th is coming up. My hope, however, is that there are customer feedback surveys which say that everyone still loves it (maybe aside from some who have seen it 500 times) which may preclude a change.

And regarding new music: would you like some "Let it go"? Or "Chin-chim-chiree"? The most recent movie referenced in the beloved (by many) MSEP was the original Pete's Dragon. That's "outdated", but that's also what makes a classic.

Depending on the time of year that it is, the shows times adjust accordingly.

What time of year is wishes at another time besides 10? January? I didn't know that it changed.
November, December, etc. It varies with park season and closing times.
For Example Wishes is scheduled for 9pm on Nov 9 2016.
And FWIW-towards the end of January it's at 8pm.

I thought January may be the one that would be earlier. I think it's a 10 every night of our November/December trip. I probably should double check that.lol
