I loved how all the characters became stained glass at the end. It subtlety fit in with the message. Kind of like, "These characters found their Happily Ever After. Now it's your turn."
From the first two videos that were shot during the first showing. It's a bit difficult to tell but were characters also on the turrets during the finale? Because I think I saw Nick on one of the turrets but was Judy featured?

I think what the show is missing is the narration throughout that connects the "movements" to move the narrative forward. This show is similar to Wishes in that it has multiple movements that each build and climax (withe a "button"), but when you get to that momentary silence between sections, there should be a brief narration that connects/introduces the next section.

But I definitely enjoyed the show (even from watching the stream) - the projections look great, I love the added lighting effects, and I definitely don't feel like they skimped out on the pyro. Also - I love that they are also projecting in the Castle's main arch (that you can walk through) and on the castle walls in the hub. It just helps fill out the entire image.

It's not a perfect show, but I don't think it's a downgrade from Wishes. I think they're both very strong shows, just maybe for different reasons.

Absolutely outstanding.

1. Incredible pyro (which the DPB didn't entirely show. In their defense, this is a VERY challenging show to tape; you either close-up on the castle or show pyro). Dragonfly firework?! Moana swirl? Smiles, hearts, color-changing. Just stellar.
2. Top-notch projections
3. Love the synchrolites
4. Lasers not over done
5. Stirring score with beautiful blending of melodies. I love the contemporary feel. Turning "Love is an Open Door" into a ballad, for example, was divine. And a new use for Frozen. In general, I felt they chose some unique songs, not the usual cliches.
6. Easy to follow progression through friendship, love, danger, heroism, and finale where guests seek their happily ever after
7. Doesn't pander. No need to say "wish" 143 times.
8. Sweet that they seem to have used the same announcer as Festival of Fantasy.

I expect this will be a smash hit.
I think that was Corey Burton doing the narration.

I actually liked the narrator, it sounded like we were being read a story. They couldn't have pulled that off with Jiminy Cricket, IMO. I will say though, I missed half of the projections and I was at the top of the hill on main street, between Caseys and the hub. They seem to have made the characters not just small but featured farther down on the castle. I'm sure another angle will do the trick to that viewing issue. I absolutely had chills through most of the show, it's stunning. And it finally uses movies I grew up with! (Hunchback, especially seems to be ignored by Disney so I was definitely thrilled to see it showcased in such a cool way) and we had elements of Celebrate the Magic with the lanterns and the turret launch, and the two crossed "stars" from Wishes.

I'm going with 8.5/10 if only because you could have a great view but if someone/thing blocks the castle you'll miss have the show. And you never know when a child or ipad or whatever will pop up in front of you. But if luck is with you, this show is OUTSTANDING.

As far as disney shows go IMO I think MK now has one of the best Disney nighttime fireworks around the world.

Always felt as if Wishes was a reaction to Believe, There's Magic in the Stars....and it never "did it" for me. Wishes had huge periods of darkness with just narration which to me was a flow issue. Jiminy was the saving grace of the show for me. When I saw initial previews of HEA, I was worried that it was going to be to poppy, but after watching the Inside Disney Parks coverage, followed by the superior WDW Magic coverage, my worries were no more. I felt this show continued to build throughout-from the immortalizing of the characters in Go the Distance-followed by the call to action from the narrator- to the biggest Tink reveal possible. Although I'm 1500 miles away, those moments transported me immediately to the Hub with a huge rush of emotion.....far bigger than any moment in Wishes (for me). I will also say that after watching the Disney coverage, watching the WDW Magic static version was far better....I found myself only referencing the projections while focussing on the pyro, which was far bigger than the Disney version covered. This show can be viewed over and over with new bits to discover each time....sort of like riding Pirates or the Haunted Mansion. I say "Bravo"....I loved it and can't wait to experience it in person, come September.

I will see this in person next week, but so far I like the show visually. The Happily Ever After theme song however I don't like at all, trash compared to the Wishes theme IMO. Thankfully that song is only played briefly at the beginning and end. And some of the music choices taken from movies were questionable (I adore Hunchback of Notre Dame but would prefer other songs in the movie). There are very few songs from 2000s Disney movies I like at all to begin with, so most of that I didn't care for either. I expected it to end at the I Can Go the Distance (figuring it was the finale), but it went on. I would have preferred it to end at Hercules as it was a better finale than the real one. But overall I found it to be a visual treat and appreciate that early rumors were wrong about a reduction in fireworks. I like it. Don't love it, but definitely in the more positive camp.

My mom however didn't like the show at all. She hates the music and didn't feel even the Disney songs were integrated in very well. She also thinks the lasers and projections are distracting, unnecessary and nauseating (I didn't have this complaint much myself, but would myself be okay without them, wish we still had more trees in the hub instead too lol) . She doesn't mind dedicated projection shows on their own, just not mixed in with fireworks. Her final thoughts were that it was tacky/gaudy, messy, disjointed, made her somewhat motion sick and just way too visually busy.

Don't worry, Take it from me (I was there for the opening show) The castle is very big so you shouldn't get somewhat motion sick. It's a amazing show to see in person and is a not to miss show.

Here is our video of the show with a static camera giving the perspective of a viewer in the park. It should give a very good idea of the amount of pyro and all the new lighting effects.

Just watched for a second time, enjoyed it much more from this view rather than the one Disney put out. I just wish people would shut up during the show, they pay all that money to be there and spend the duration of the show talking nonsense not even related to the show.

Yes, I enjoyed it. The only thing that concerned me was the lack of older, classic Disney films. I realize with so many Disney films it would be difficult for all of them to be represented. But it would have been good to see more. And I really missed not seeing Mickey make an appearance. jmo

That was awesome! I can't wait to see it in 15 days!! I LOVE that they used "I can go the distance" from Hercules. I was fond of wishes. This blows it out of the lagoon.

For years now after the Hercules part, in my head, I'll hear the kid from this video say "mama, I feel like sleeping. Grandma, I feel like sleeping" That is his happily ever after.

I find it a bit strange that many of you don't see the flow in this show. The songs picked for the segments match.

I see it as:
-Wishing/wanting/determination (Tiana, Part of Your World, Out There, Brave, Moana, even Cars and Up have elements of that "wanting more.")
-Friends/Family (Genie, Trashing the Camp, Toy Story, Hakuna Matata, Big Hero 6, Inside Out, Monsters Inc, etc)
-Romance (That Olaf narration and redo of Love Is an Open door , You'll Be in My Heart, I See the Light)
-Villains/Adversity (Mulan narration, villains, Pirates, etc)
-Triumph (Go the Distance)
-Finale

Maybe I'm reading too far into it, but do we really need a constant narrator to spell it out for us? There's no lag between the segments. It flows well in my eyes. I feel like the people who put this together (who are professional storytellers) don't expect to have to dumb down an obvious story for those familiar with Disney songs and films, and their messages.

I'm in awe. That was amazing just on my monitor. I'm always the one who doesn't really care about the nighttime shows and goes on rides during them.

I am beside myself at this point trying to make sure we see this in October!!!

I really like this!
