Keep the projections, the lasers, the gimmicks and the toys for the other parks. The MK should have the quintessential fireworks over the castle show. DL, DLP, Shanghai etc get away with it since they have the one (or two) parks and that's it. WDW has the luxury of four. It doesn't need to attempt Fantasmic on the castle or to cram everything in that's easily seen elsewhere on property.

But I'm falling on deaf ears I know. What's done is done.

I hope we're not rolling on 2021 for the next show.

Just checked to be sure

around 330 aerials for Wishes (discounting Roman Candles, Comets, and Pearls)
around 280 for IllumiNations (not counting the same)
around 250 for Star Wars (again discounting the little stuff)
around 400 aerials for Remember (so I did remember wrong, apologies)

I guess we'll see how many aerials are used for this one, and how they're used.
Wishes is currently in the high 500s for aerial pyro. As I'm sure you know though the actual figure can change nightly and is down from the opening count.

My definition of aerials was anything launched beyond Fantasyland (250) and then the smaller exploding shells above the castle, and that's at around 330 give or take 10 depending on inventory. I have the original shell list right here and I've simply excluded the three types mentioned (and their variations) from my count. About 1/2 of the shells in Wishes are traditional palms/chrysanthemums/peonies and others- I'm not counting anything anything that does not explode. I've done that for each of the shows (to the best of my abilities). Yes, if all pyro launched by any location is counted, the numbers are much different.

Totally hear you, but if it's a zero sum game then I'd prefer to bring other stuff into the mix at the cost of shells if needed. I much prefer those additions if I had to choose. It shouldn't be a zero sum game but it looks like that's the case.

Has it been discussed that this will be 6 minutes longer than Wishes? 18 minutes instead of the 12-13 minutes that Wishes is.
I remember overhearing a conversation in college about how longer isn't always better. I assume it was about nighttime fireworks spectaculars. I know Fantasy in the Sky was a bit self conscious but most people agree it was still a pleaser.

That "as much as you love Wishes" line that he says towards the end... yeah, we'll see...
Yeah, ominous. If I love it as much as I love Wishes, I'll only watch it once. Might be blasphemy, but wishes just never did much for me. Just an opinion and no hatred for anyone who loves Wishes.

I loved Wishes, saw it every time I went to WDW, but am looking forward to something new.

Projections on the castle shouldn't limit the amount of pyro in the sky. I'd rather not see any significant stretch of time without a pop in the sky but we shall see ... just saw Wishes last night and it's going to be hard to top. I don't mind fancy and fun and new but the fireworks in the sky are what people want at the Magic Kingdom. I am bummed I forgot to catch Once Upon a Time though, had to go take a spin on Pirates because it was down just about all day.
