It IS a fact this show is better off not being polluted with the same songs over and over again. Whether YOU chose to accept that is an entirely different story. But like I said, you purists will hate everything which is why I don't even know why I bother. Lol.

Ya know, I agree with your position, but, aren't you overstating the case by using "polluted" and "purists"? When I see such words as those and "shoehorn" "cram down our throats" "haters" "pixie dusters"... I kinda think your fighting some secret war. It's sufficient to state and explain one's thoughts and leave it at that.

What's that all about, not only is the show longer, there is more pyro. Even if the pyro was spread thin it would have meant it was stretched not cut back but that's not even the case. They stepped it up to not only increase the ammount of pyro but went back to the larger shells like they used in fantasy in the sky. Some of those shells span double the length of wishes largest shells. That's before the finalize, they haven't launched shells like that nightly in years and I honestly never thought I would see shells like that launched there again.
Exactly! And the colors are unlike anything I've seen in the USA. You said it much better than I could find the words for.

WDW Fan Since 1973
Since Friday evening, I've watched HEA on YouTube from quite a few different sources and each time I've found something that heightens my anticipation of seeing it in September. On first viewing, (the "official Disney" coverage-which by the way, I feel is the weakest), I thought the show was pretty incredible (and I've always thought myself to be a pretty "traditional Disney" kind of guy-and no, I'm not pretty). Of all the fireworks shows I've seen at WDW and DL, Magic, Music and Mayhem (from the Pirate/Princess party) was my favorite, followed by Remember and Magical from DL. Wishes was always down on list, so I wasn't bothered that it was being replaced. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I felt Wishes was WDW's reaction to Believe. Needless to say, on first hearing the HEA theme, I was thinking that WDW was going all DL...seems as though they've got the pop thing covered and WDW has always seemed a bit more traditional, but still I wasn't concerned. And now that I've watched over a dozen times, I find I keep liking it more and more. It also feels distinctly WDW to me (can I explain that statement, no...just something I feel-kind of how I feel Paint the Night is DL and couldn't ever be a MK presentation where as Spectro worked at MK) The musician in me appreciates hearing the "fresh" tunes that HEA features (Hunchback especially, is hands down, perhaps the strongest musical score Disney has ever done, so a whole segment featuring "Out There" is awesome) as well as the new HEA theme with it's gospel sounding choir in the finale...I'm almost disappointed in myself for not missing "When you Upon a Star", but I don't. And....IMO, the smartest thing the creative team did with this show, was saving Tink's reveal. Her arrival couldn't have been any more perfect for me and she put the inevitable climax over the top. This whole show is a feast for the eyes and ears....why worry about a weak narrative. Sometimes it's just nice to turn off your brain and enjoy whats presented in front of you.

In my list of Pro's and Con's for this show, its pretty much all Pro's except for one MAJOR con...Most nights I would skip Wishes to get few more attractions under my belt before the end of the evening but I don't see that happening any more. I have a feeling I'm going to spending each evening in MK waiting for HEA to begin...and that's a con I can deal with!

I think it's because it feels slightly less as the time is longer. I've yet to watch it as I'll be seeing it soon as to not spoil it, but that would make the most sense.

It really is odd though... the same people that complain Disney never updates anything does a major update (one that probably will only last until 2021 mind you) and people complain even though it has even more pyro. Yes the pacing probably isn't perfect due to the nature of using songs in the clip format they do, and yes projections weren't necessary, but for a projection show that doesn't have to be watched with projections... (that from what people say is really good) is a win win in my eyes!

It's different, and I'm guessing I'll prefer Wishes, but it was in need of a change. EPCOT's Illuminations on the other hand I think just needs updates.
You are doing it the smart way. I should have waited a week to see it in person but I am so impatient. Everything you said is spot on!

I've been thinking and is it possible to upgrade Tink's flight system to one similar to Disneylands'. Obviously, since there isn't any other tall structure to launch tink off of you wouldn't get the same effect, but is it possible.

Also, I wish they would bring back Goofy and a reindeer flying down the wire, for christmas sometime.

The unwarranted criticism of this show is simply because it uses newer films, which are always unanimously hated by the snobs on this forum, and the soundtrack which the snobs also claim is too pop. I'm sorry, have they heard the garbage that is on pop radio this day and age? The score of HEA is ten billion times better. Fantasmic's score is pop-ish but no one bats and eye at that because F! has the untouchable classics and thus gets a pass. As usual people love to express their 'opinions' when in reality, they're doing nothing but bashing something without valid reasons. Pretty pathetic, but thank GOD I put them on ignore.

I am amazed by your new telepathy powers!

If you think f! Is pop-ish in the context of HEA theme you need some help. F! Theme is orchestra oriented with brass and strings heading it... with choral singers. Its melodies are actually reminiscent of prior Disney parks soundtracks. If anything it sounds late 80s Disney stage show (the overplayed dance numbers and chorus singing). Contrast this with HEA which is straight from the Disney channel catalog of teen duet singers anchored with a regular drum line. That's why it's getting labeled pop-ish.

You have real anger issues

About only 2 years ago some of those shells were being tested as prototyped in Japan seen for the first time by technicians, that jellyfish one is one of them and already there being launched in the magic kingdom.

We are talking about the theme song.. yes. Of course after that it jumps into the film soundtracks... as do both shows.

How can anyone deny the lead element is this duet?

Its starts with Brass fanfare and ends with a mass choir! Literally.

HEA is very much Orchestra oriented with Brass and strings heading it... complete with choral singers. For good ness sake it has a full on mass choir in it! Look at the entire 4 minute video, not just this tease.... those "teens" whom are 23 and 24 respectively, are being lead by a full orchestra of strings, brass, and no drum line. Why just because a song is upbeat, would it be consider pop? It is clearly an orchestra, even if you couldn't see it, you can hear it, and it is way different then a pop band.

I get that Jordan Fisher had a minor role in both teen beach movies, but that does not make HEA's theme a Disney Channel Catalog default.
