Hey Black, 9/4 is not a Sunday.
You might want to check your ressie again.

10/4!!! My bad! Its hard leaving in Sept, coming back in Oct, and putting a 10 in front of all my Oct days...I always put 9! UGH!!! I was looking at it thinking the 4th is so a Sunday what the heck are you talking about! lol but we were both "right"

It sounds awesome! I also hope they extend it further, since I'm not going until the 2nd week of December. My son and friends will also like having more room for their tripods. I just want the goodies! :)

We went the first week of August. Best value party we have attended. The location, the sweets, the view, the service.................all first class.

If you don't mind me asking, where did you set up your tripod?

I staked out a spot somewhere in the middle, and I made sure it was at the edge of the Terrace so that the roof wasn't in the way. The CM's let me leave the tripod there while we had our food, and when the group started making their way to the viewing area, I hopped up and then set my camera and everything else up.

Anyone know why they raised prices so much, or was it just because they could?

Most likely because they could. Unless they've added some new, more expensive items to the menu, it would be hard for me to understand a $7 increase in price. It has been a very popular event since it started and those who have participated (including me) have given it positive reviews. The dessert spread was impressive and constantly refilled when out/low. We were there for the July 4th weekend and liked not having to stake out spots for the fireworks or feel like sardines while watching them.

Called today, and the only day available during our stay (Oct 12-19) was the 14th. :( Too bad as we've already got dinner reservations at Epcot that day. Hopefully there'll be some walk-up tickets available for another night!

Woo-hoo! I just made ressies for this event on Oct. 26 for the 4 of us (2 grown sons, DH and I). I didn't have to wait on hold any time at all, the CM was very well-rehearsed, and I had no problems. Just FYI, she had a prepared spiel with all of the usual info (ticket required for entrance to the park, no smoking, etc.) but also included the fact that there is a 1 day prior cancellation policy for a full refund. She also said that the area is standing room only, and that the area is covered and the event takes place rain or shine (moonshine I guess ;) ). I have a couple of questions for those that have attended. If the fireworks are cancelled due to the weather, does the dessert party still go on? Also, isn't there seating in the Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station for the dessert party attendees?

This is an evening EMH night at the MK, so this will get us energized for a long evening (or a post-sugar crash that cuts it short! :snore:). We'll have been at the MNSSHP the night before, so we'll certainly have had our MK fix by the end of that night.

So are they having the dessert party on MNSSHP party nights? I can't recall if Wishes takes place at park close on those nights or not.

Also, how much is it now? Someone mentioned a price increase. I did the event on July 4th and thought is was fantastic for the price (and consdiering the day) but not sure it's worth more than $18.

I couldn't tell you about what would happen if Wishes was to be canceled, but I can field your question about the seating. Some seats are close to the edge of the terrace. But, there are still a fair amount of people attending the party who stand along the edges to see the show. So, yes, you do get to sit and enjoy your food, but when its showtime, I highly recommend standing and getting close to that edge to enjoy the show.

I really hope they extend this to December - I would love to try it.

I have just read the report on allears.net about this. It looks great! I like the fact that there are lots of little desserts, so we don't have to choose one, but get to try a little of each! :slurp:

Thanks so much for your response. I did expect to stand at the railing for the fireworks, but hoped that we'd be able to sit down to eat. It's no fun to juggle plates and drinks standing up, not to mention that we'll probably be ready to rest a while by then. As far as the cost, we were charged $23.42 per person (including tax but not gratuity). We'll be skipping a meal that night, so the cost isn't too far out of line with what we'd have spent anyway. I know that it's just desserts, but I consider chocolate to be one of the basic food groups, so I'm good with that! :slurp:

Do they offer any discounts? AP, DVC, TIW? $25 per person seems kind of steep, although the desserts look good.

I booked Halloween night yesterday and asked about discounts. They said no to DVC and Disney Visa, but there may be some other discount that Im not eligible for.

Hey all, I figured I would post a shot so everyone who hasn't attended the dessert party has an idea for the fireworks viewing angle.

You can click the image to go to my Flickr page to read all about the shot/dessert party, and I also have a rather large collection of Disney photos there you can explore as well!
