Maybe the answer is to beg all the old guys to come back before they’re dead and pass down some knowledge to the new generation? But I have a feeling that wouldn’t be an option because they can’t have the white man come save the day. Same reason I think Baxter didn’t work out on the Splash retheme.

I think this approach started in the mid to late 2010s if I’m not mistaken. Was that when the recently canned head of DEI at Disney started?

True to its name, this subforum used to be a place to discuss Disney films and shows.
Now it’s become a weird successor to the defunct politics subforum, filled with posters whose sole intent is to beat an ideological drum and rant and rave against “pandering”. It’s a very unfortunate shift that has turned one of the pleasanter corners of this website into a den of trolls.
Something needs to change.

To be clear, I’m not referring to criticism of the film itself. People are perfectly entitled not to like it.I agree! This is ridiculous!
But that’s not what’s going on here. The film has become nothing more than a pretext for people to air their political grievances.

Almost like movies have been infused with political and social agendas that contribute to their poor critical and box office receptions. To not acknowledge these attributes would be willful ignorance.
Many people here once liked Disney, before it went to garbage.

I know you’re not talking to me. I spent $130 to take my family of 4 to see Wish between the fancy Dolby seats, Fandango fees and popcorn. $130 or in other words 10% of Wish’s revenue.

This is the part I can’t stand and why I don’t enjoy my time here nearly as much as before. Just willful ignorance. No dialogue or conversation. We backed up our opinion with examples but just called names in response.
You were indeed faced with a negative repsonse and run.
Even if somoene does not agree with the extent, they asked, you provide evidence to support your reasonining and then are called disgraceful, and somehow the word hatred thrown in and there is none.
Now if one disagrees it must be because they are passively racist.

Exactly and I’m willing to debate the “extent” of which this is effecting Disney but to pretend that none of this is happening is nonsense.

I have seen you air grievances of your emotions in a few threads on here. It is always a panic of doom for the company or calling critics of movies jerks etc...
Then you return to apologize and say it is just that you get so worked up.
Please, take a breathe and think before posting. Private message if you must and I could share some tips on emotional help resoruces or seek them. No judgment. Person to person. Nothing here should have you posting like this or name-calling
