Winter Deals.

Anyone know when Disney starts offering their winter specials? Not just the holiday getaway, but the reduced hotel rates etc. like they do for the fall.
All the specials they're running now, like great room rates at the AK lodge seem to expire in September or October.

Usually Disney doesn't offer deals for the Winter time (well at least not the November-January Part). They don't have to because they will book the rooms anyway. People are going to come during Christmas even if they have to pay full price. Don't expect the same type of codes that are available now to be released for that time of the year.

The next deals won't start until Spring 2003. Unless WDW needs to unload a bunch of rooms you wont get much. Try joining the Disney Club. You save about 10-20% off your room.

I think they base their prices on a supply and demand, so you may need to wait until Sep. or so for room rates to be published when they ahave a better idea of what the market will bear. There is probably a rate in place now, but you might have to get it over the phone and it may not be that great. Disney is pretty good a seperating me from my money, so I bet if you called and said "I want to book a room" there would be a rate and they would take your money. :)

Rates do change based on the crowds. For the last two years, we have gone to WDW in the week before Christmas. Last Dec. we were there from the 16th to the 21st. I think we paid around mid 100's a night for the WL. However, if we had stayed the night of the 21st, our room rate would have jumped up to around $300 a night because the Xmas crowds were showing up and the hotel was sold out.

I'd call 407-WDISNEY and see what they say....

That's not true. Disney always has a deal in Jan. and Feb. called Sunshine Getaway or some other such thing. Similar to Fall Fantasy (or Fall-whatever it is they are calling it this year). Rates go down after New Year's. Always. Just might not be published yet.

I am talking about codes not the Walt Disney Travel Company deals.

Oh. Sorry, Gu. I am so hot and tired here. The bugs came in the house today and I am getting biten all over. And my four year old is nagging me to make him ANOTHER Nutella sandwich! I gotta get off this 'puter before I start to spew off at the mouth and end up pi**ing someone off!

Night, night and catch y'all tomorrow!

I've been watching mousesavers.com for the next batch of codes for November. There aren't any available yet, so we made reservations anyway and then will change the rates when they come up.

mousesavers.com, eh? I'll have to check that one out.
So I gather it must be a year to year thing based on the crowds. Guess I'll just wait and see what happens. Either that or we can book a room now, and if a great deal at a different hotel comes along, then I'll cancel and rebook.
Thanks for the help!

Meega, nala kwishta!
I hope they release the passholders numbers soon. We have booked in October for the AKL, and I really want those discount prices.

We'll probebly cancel our vacation all together if they don't do the passholder discounts for October. I think the next newsletter isn't until August, so I'm betting they will be published then.

I hope.... :zipit:

Yea, at $521 a night (with tax), that's just a bit to steep for my walet. But with a 30% discount or more...I can swing that.

I've talked to a few Disney reps, and they all said that there should be AP discounts, and most were surprised they haven't released the numbers yet.

I just keep checking in once a week. I'll start getting nerviuos if I don't see any by September 1st.

Ummm.... I still use the 800-WDISNEY and it works fine. I dunno what your doing, but it works.

I don't believe there is an 800 number anymore. If you call 800-wdisney it just rings and rings -- no answer. There may be one if you are a Disney Club member, which is probably on the card, but otherwise the number to call is 407-wdisney.

I just use the 407-939-7675 number. But because I'm doing the concierge level at AKL, I can just call the number for AKL concierge, and they will take care of everything for me; dinners, shows, tours...you name it, they will help you with it. Guess that's why it so much more expensive. :)
