Winnie the Pooh queue area construction photo update - tree goes under wraps

This isn't actually construction, but the Pooh queue, starting yesterday, has some really nice new music. :) It's a bit more fancy than the old stuff, and has some songs that weren't included in the old lineup. I liked it quite a bit.

Here are some pictures I took yesterday of the work being done at Pooh:

The construction walls have expanded to cover basically the entire front of the building:

The inside queue is totally blocked off by the construction walls and now basically the entire queue is outside:

Here is a look at the temporary entrance/exit for the ride. The entrance is the far left lane and the exit is the far right (you do not exit through the gift shop):

Another view of the scaffolding up around the tree:

And finally, an overview of the entire area:

I'm sure the new queue will be really nice, but right now I would not want to wait in line for this attraction because it is all exposed in the hot sun with just a couple of umbrellas.

I couldn't really tell what was going on here until I rode yesterday. Yes, the entire queue is outside. Fastpass, regular line, exit, everything. You no longer exit through the Thoughful Spot shop. It's all in and out the ramps you see above. Once you get into the building, it's enough room to hop in a circle basically. We had fast passes yesterday and it was brutal. Basically they close the standby line (like Splash Mountain) to let the FPs go in. The merge point is at the base of the ramps right where the red umbrella is in the above photo. You can even see the CM closing the FP line to reopen the standby. I feel bad for the CM that has to stand out there. There was a supervisor checking on the guy working yesterday saying, "I'm here to help". Really nothing they can do tho. Not much shade under that umbrella.

Wow! I wonder how long this exterior/queue area refurb will last. What a mess with the walls, the scaffolding, the ropes, etc. Progress is promising, tho! I'm excited to see so much going on! :sohappy:

So they are redoing the queue with lots of plants and garden as was shown in the overhead planes. Are they going to re-theme the upper part where the castle and the Winnie the Pooh sign is?

OMG the horrors...whatever will WDW do without this gift shop containing all the same merchandise as all the other shops?
