I just saw the pictures of the current state of the queue, and wow that is a confusing and ugly line.

I am glad they are doing this change, though, most FL queue's need major overhauls.

I think we might be losing the old ticket booth now turned merchandise location. I couldn't see it over the construction walls yesterday.

Not to mention if people want their Pooh crap, Pooh crap central is over at Downtown Disney.

or do you mean Pooh poo?

anyways, i dont understand how this will last through the end of the year. doesnt seem like a queue should take that long to build

Basically they close the standby line (like Splash Mountain) to let the FPs go in. The merge point is at the base of the ramps right where the red umbrella is in the above photo. You can even see the CM closing the FP line to reopen the standby. I feel bad for the CM that has to stand out there.

FPs for Pooh are basically worthless now. The standby and the fastpass line are equal in length, because no one wants to wait in standby in the sun, and fastpass gets backed up because of the merge point. Fastpasses have priority, but they only bypass maybe half the line.

And yes, merge is extremely hot and crowded.

The umbrellas are useless at sundown. Their shade isn't anywhere near underneath them. That's why I'm standing behind the sign in the photo of the temporary queue entrance; because that umbrella had no shade at all.

When is the refurb supposed to end?

I've heard it'll be completed in December, and walls will begin to come down in November.

Yeah, while I maintain that Pooh should keep Fastpass, when you're doing work on the queue, and it is otherwise causing problems, you might as well do away with it while the construction is going on.

If you are putting so much effort into making the queue experience that much better, why offer a method to bypass it? None of the "next gen" queues should have fastpass.

Orlando Theme Park News posted an update of this Pooh area. Interesting stuff. I wonder why there's water near the tree though.. Could there be a water feature here? Or...?

This isn't actually construction, but the Pooh queue, starting yesterday, has some really nice new music. :) It's a bit more fancy than the old stuff, and has some songs that weren't included in the old lineup. I liked it quite a bit.

Yesterday I shot a video of the shop, where you can hear the new music:

i personally like it!
P.S. I tried to embed the video but it didn't work...

Actually, the exterior/queue music never changed. The music in the youtube video is included in the recording I made of the queue in 2008 (the song starts around 17:40 in my recording). I waited to respond to this message until the queue officially opened again to make sure they weren't going back and forth with different music. When I checked this morning, the same loop from 2008 was still playing, which has a run time of 39:14.

Was this the same loop that played at the Pooh playground?

Yes, the music used to play in the playground (where I made my previous recording) and from speakers located on the roof of the attraction building. Today, the music still plays from the roof as well as from ground level speakers located in the outdoor queue.

Thanks for the information...is the Tigger safety spiel still extant, or are there more speakers that it's playing from?
