Will they ever build a new resort?

Animal Kingdom I believe is the most recent and lately the trend has been to add DVC accomodations on to existing resorts. Do you think Disney will build a new resort anytime in the near future?

i think they will. But i think they should not build anymore "all-star" type value resorts. I think they have enough of those. The should build another great moderate resort.

Do you know where the TTC is at WDW? You might want to watch that space in about 10 years.:lookaroun

There was some construction equipment and steel beams near the Contemporary. There were some guys on the beams screwing around and playing with fire torches.

I wonder what that is for?

I thought I saw some sort of tower being built there but as Disney say otherwise I'm forced to believe it was just my imagination.

I doubt it. The monorail systems are great in Disney. I doubt there will be any replacements.

Ummmm, who said anything about replacing the monorail:confused::veryconfu:confused::veryconfu???

They will adapt the resort around the tracks and the MK loop and Epcot spur will go right through the hotel resort. I have heard this has been done before somewhere but I just can't remember where.

Remember you heard it hear first :)

You can't be serious...;)

But I'm sure we will see a new resort soon.WDW has a ton of land left.

Actually I heard it somewhere else so it's not something I made up. There is a lot of land but not so much on the monorail lines. I have seen the artist renderings of how originally EPCOT Center was going to be built there before they decided to go with it's current location so I know the land can support a major multi-story hotel.

Plus the rooms facing the MK would be amazing for watching the fireworks and water parade. It could really be a 5 star resort that could make the Contemorary Resort look common place. Just my two cents.

Actually artist renderings are done before ground stability work is done.

There have been a couple of incidents at WDW where work was started but had to be halted because the ground couldn't support the structure that had already been designed.

Perhaps it would be built in between TTC and EPCOT?Why would they have to sack the TTC?

It's the last place to build on the MK loop, the rooms could face the MK (think high $$$$$$) and the TTC has largely become obsolete in it's current configuration.

I do agree though that there is prime land along the Epcot line for a new resort or a substantial expansion of WL and/or the WL DVC in the distant future. (Or even a 5th gate )

I would hardly say obsolete, as it basically serves the same function as it did in it's inception. Outdated maybe, but obsolete....nah.
