Will LMA save the Demize of Disney MGM Studios

There actually were a lot more shows filmed at Disney-MGM Studios. Star Search was filmed there for many years, and I know that more movies and shows were filmed there than people think. The actual working studios does need to be revamped and revitilized. The Orlando area is a prime location for filming as it has a great sunny climate and offers world class amenities for any star to film there. Disney and ABC need to work on the development of movies and shows at Disney-MGM Studios as it has lost some of that Movie Studios Hollywood feel that it originally had. Get rid of Drew Carey's show and put an attraction similar to the original show with Martin Short and Chevy Chase in which the audience participated in how sound is put into pictures and bring back a revamped Superstar television in which audience members got to experience how tv magic was made in filming and editing. And once and for all move the stupid hat(store) to Fantasmic's entrance and bring back the Chinese theater as the awe-inspiring, "I'm in Hollywood," first impression that Disney-MGM Studios used to have!

One more little thing about the business v. Walt idea. The first and only worry of Walt's was the guest and making the attractions and the experience just right. It was the thing that made Disney more than just a business and the biggest success! Take care of the guest and the business part will all fall in place. Think about the dollar first and you've already lost the vision that made Walt and Walt Disney World (and Disneyland) the great successes that they have become.

I respecfully disagree. Those shows are not worth the admission price of getting into the park - they are cheap attractions for Disney, but even when I was 15 I found rather lame. And at this point that type of show seems outdated - as young people especially are more saavy about how films are put together.

But, it wouldnt be bad for real production to take place - however I dont see that happening. I work in the film industry and I dont think most creative talent would want to work down there on a continuous basis - it's just too far off from the rest of the industry, unless for some reason it's a location shoot.

Monster Sound Show and Superstar Televesion had so much humour in them... even todays hard to please teens could have a laugh. Not to mention the capacity of these two theatres was huge. I also work in the industry, and whilst we may be blase about how productions come together, joe public may still be interested in it, especially after watching the latest extras disc on his DVD - nice to see how effects actually happen, or what a foley stage actually looks like and how hard it is to get it right!

Although they did require more than half a brain cell to enjoy, didn`t appeal to the lowest common denominator and required a relativley large contingent of CM`s to operate - I guess we`ll never see them again.

I agree with the lack of production though... TWDC need to make clear it is a park dedicated to movies and television, no longer a park to see them being made.

Sad but true.
