Will I Really Wear Makeup?

I am getting closer and closer to our 9/17 trip and I keep wondering....will I REALLY wear makeup while I'm there? I mean I really don't leave the house without it on anymore which is funny considering for like almost all of my 30s I didn't wear a bit of it, (I am 39 - will turn 40 on they day we leave for WDW :)). However I really hate the stuff. I only use it because I prefer the way I look with it on vs. without. So I am torn - do I bother applying at all or just leave it at home and forget it?
Two things...
1. Yes, I know in the grand scheme of things this is stupid to waste my time pondering and I'm sorry for wasting your time too lol.
2. I am an all or nothing type so I will either apply all of it or none of it. So suggestions to go light won't help since I don't wear too much anyway, but enough to "feel" it on (which is the part I hate).
What are your experiences with makeup and what do you suggest for me?

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
I don't always wear any in Disney....some days I do and some I don't if I'm running late etc. And what I do wear is more of a lighter BB cream/foundation, mascara, blush, and a lighter lipgloss etc. No eyeliner, eye shadow, etc unless it's the eye shadow primer that looks good on its own and its easy(love Urban Decay primer potion in various shades). So I go lighter when I do wear my makeup so it only takes a few minutes to put on. I don't really feel it on either with what I do put on while in the parks so that is a plus. Oh I am 35 and usually don't need makeup on but I do feel better to have some esp for pictures. lol :p

That's the thing...I don't guess I need it either and on RARE occasions when I have to come to work without any if I ever mention the fact that's it's missing, my co-workers are all "Oh I didn't even know you wore make-up" and then I wonder if that's an insult or a compliment or what? Haha. Any way yes - the pictures...that is my hang up. I know I will be in more pictures than I have in a LOOOONG time so I kinda want to look my best, but it would be really nice to not have to mess with it at all

I wear powder only and I do still always put eyeliner and lipgloss on in the morning. I will refresh the gloss and powder my nose a couple of times but the eyeliner does a pretty good job of staying in place.Clinique quickliner holds up great if you just are like me and feel weird without it. :)

I get the same thing whether I wear it or not and yes that is a compliment!! We are blessed to be in the great skin club. Haha! I'm going to enjoy while it lasts and be makeup free as much as I can. I don't wear it daily but do for special outings and such.
I understand about not wanting to mess with it as I feel the same most days in the parks but sometimes end up regretting it later. Not all times but sometimes Lol. Just bring your makeup and if you feel like it go for it and if not just don't wear it that day. Maybe try a day or 2 to see how you like it and go from there. I also usually wear my hair up everyday in my infamous bun as my hair makes my neck get hot (unless it's freezing then it's okay haha) and it flies in the wind etc and annoys me if its down in the parks and most days even at home to be honest. Lol. :)

Yea - the hair thing is another issue entirely lol. I will most definitely wear it up in a bun. Otherwise I will have to curl or straighten it to control the frizz so it doesn't look like this...

I UNDERSTAND THE STRUGGLE!!! Mine is the same! Frizzes like crazy as my hair is naturally wavy. Also if I want to wear it down every day I have to wash it every single day! If I sleep on it (like to have it up while I sleep too) it's ruined for the next day! My hair is not one to get greasy fast (hence the frizzing! Lol) and when you are in the parks for very long days I like to soak in a nice bath and go bed, and not have to wake up early every single day to take a shower and wash my hair, blowdry it, etc just so I can wear it down. Lol. :joyfull:

I put my hair up in a bun or ponytail and no make up whatsoever. The only thing I put on my face is a sunscreen esp for faces and a spf chapstick like thing. It's also way too hot still in Sept and even if you did put on make up it would all sweat off and would be useless. I know there are ladies that I have read about that put a special spray on over their makeup in order to wear it at WDW but I just don't feel it's personally necessary.

We go when it's not really hot so a little is not bad but yes in Sept i probably would not bother either at all! I do always put a sunscreen on regardless. :)

I wash my hair three times a week MAX. Dry shampoo is my bestest friend in the whole wide world. It's just way too thick and long to have to straighten and/or curl every day. I won't cut it though - I love it too much, (other than the dang natural curl that I can't seem to master).

I say nix the makeup, especially if your co-workers don't even notice the difference! I am 100% make-up free and love it. Saves me time and money, which means more for vacation! :D

Which dry shampoo do you use? I've been thinking of trying it out.

Yes dry shampoo or a light hairspray (love Chi's or Avedas) are my best friends. My hair/scalp gets way to dry if I wash daily and just the hassle is not worth it either. I have longer hair that has gotten finer as I have gotten older (used to be very thick) but there is still a ton of it eventhough it's fine. Takes my hairdresser forever to color/highlight due to all the hair. lol. I do trim to get dead ends off but that's it because I do not look good with shorter hair and that makes it frizz bigger the shorter it is (mushroom top affect!). :)

Me too. I don't wear anything on my face except sunblock because I'm a puddle a few hours into a day in the park. I definitely go for comfort over looks on trips to WDW.

I always bring a full makeup routine along on vacation. It's easier to just do my usual prep rather than debate back and forth about whether or not I deserve to relax, skip it, and then worry all day about how I look. Plus on vacation there's more likely to be pictures and I'm just too picky to feel comfortable with no make-up in a photo. Sometimes I do go lighter during the day but we always go back to the room to change for dinner and I usually add some drama to my eyes at that point. A few products that really help to keep your makeup in place in the heat and humidity--- face primer under your foundation (Smashbox has great options), eye primer (Too Faced Shadow Insurance is awesome), and a setting spray over top of everything as the final step (Urban Decay De Slick is my favorite). Also Clinique City Block is a great sunscreen for the face that also mattifies, controls oil and can replace face primer.

@JENN SMITH, I would at least take your basics along for the trip. Better to have them and not use them, then to not have them and wish you did. If you're picky about brands and use specific products in your routine it'll be hard to replace your items on the fly. Have a fantastic trip and a wonderful birthday :)
