Will I Have To Pay Anything When I Check Out?

My trip is in 88 days ( yay!), and I'm getting set to pay off my trip within the next week or so. I was just wondering if I would owe any money when I check out. Thanks!

If you pay for your vacation package prior to your arrival, You would need to pay for what you charged to your room during your stay and in room phone use. With cell phones I don't ever use the room phone. If you plan on paying cash or using your own credit cards than there should be no additional charges on your room and all is well. I personally find it very convenient to give my Amex card and just use my room key for most everything. That way I do not need to bring a bunch of cash and I don't need to carry my whole wallet around with me everywhere I go.

As long as you tell them to put a card on file, you will not have to worry about visiting the front desk. They will charge any Key of the World charges to the card they have on file.

I understand that, but what I'm wondering is if they will charge me any taxes/fees/etc. besides what I charge on my key to the world card.

No. Once your pay for your room and package all taxes will be charged at the point of service (ie stores, restaurant, lounges etc.) So there should not be any lingering items to reckon for.

no, there shouldnt be.
We NEVER even go to the front desk at check out.

Where do you go, then? We have never had any outstanding balance to pay at checkout, either, but we have still checked out at the desk. I just thought we had to stop by there to tell them we're checking out.

If you leave a credit card # with the front desk upon check-in you don't they will check you out automatically.

What hansel said. Th morning you are leaving, you will have a envelop hanging from your door with a receipt that shows all the charges. I always look over it to make sure it is right, but I never have had to go to the desk. I just load the truck and take the receipt with me.

Great suggestion

Excellent advise. On our last trip in Dec 08, we checked our notice that was hung on the door and found a 5 night charge for a roll away ______ that we did not have. A quick phone call cleared it up and never had to go to the front desk. Always check you bill!!!

Sometimes when the hotel is very full, they'll stamp an additional message on your folio envelope asking you to dial a certain extension number on your room phone when you're leaving your room on check-out day (it connects to an automated message).

But I believe it's more just to inform Housekeeping that the room is empty and they can come clean it. (At a totally-full hotel, it's helpful for them to do this so they can get the rooms turned around as fast as possible). I doubt it's part of the actual check-out process. (And I've only ever seen this done at the Values)

Don't touch the phone in the room - other than to call the front desk. The fees they charge for making 800 calls, and local calls (like to Mears) is incredible. They will be on the bill as you check out.

In this day and age, everyone has a cell phone - so they probably raised the rates even more than 4 - 5 years ago when we were last charged!

FYI, if you dial "0" on your in-room phone, the WDW operator can connect you to any on-property phone number for free (like if you wanted to find out what's playing at the AMC24 in Downtown Disney, or if you wanted to call a friend who's staying at a different WDW hotel).
They will also connect you to Mears and DME for free.
