Will I have time for breakfast with Magical Express?

Our flight on the last day of our trip is at 3:30 pm. I know they will not tell me exactly what time we need to leave until the day before we leave.
I was hoping to surprise my mom and take her to breakfast at Crystal Palace the morning that we leave, just so we can get one thing Disney in before we go.
What is the earliest time you can get in Crystal Palace on a Saturday, and do you think I would have time to swing this before getting back to the resort to get on ME. We are staying at POP.
If I reserved it and then found we could not go, how big of a deal is cancelling?

You definitely should have time. DME picks you up about 3 hours before your flight. I would think noonish for you. That's plenty of time to go have breakfast and get back to Pop. If you had to cancel for some crazy reason, that's no problem either. Just call from your room and cancel.

Thank you so much!
I was thinking it was something crazy like 5 hours before. I am definitely going to book it.

Thanks again!

You can definately make it but Crystal Palace you need tickets for the magic kingdom. So maybe you can do Chef Mickey's in the contemporary and then you can go on the monorail

I believe I have a 6 night/7 day pass even though the last day I will be travelling. I think it was just a small difference in price for the 7 day pass.

If you can get it, book a really early breakfast. You can get in before the park opens and it is an amazing feeling to walk pretty much alone down Main Street USA. We have a great picture of my daughter looking down the street at the castle, and there is no one else in the picture. Only time you can ever imagine doing that...get an 8am reservation and enjoy...

I never thought of that. Thank you so much! I plan to book it, if it turns out the ME is really early I will just have to cancel, but hopefully we will have plenty of time to enjoy.

Our plane left at 3:30, and I remember DME telling us to be at the bus at 12:45. I figure that was 45 minutes to the airport and then the 2 hours you have to get through security to your gate. Oh, we stayed at POP too. Have a good time!

BTW - what time do busses begin in order to get over there at 8?

There are "Character Breakfast Buses" that run real early. I have seen reports of them starting at like 6:45, but check with your front desk for info, they should be able to tell you. Be warned they aren't very frequent so you may need to be ready early and wait a bit. The buses do drop offs for MK, Contemporary, Poly, and GF.

For the really early breakfasts we like to use a cab. I know, I know...why pay for the transportation when you can get it free? I'm not a patient person particularly when I have to be somewhere at a set time. I'm not a morning person, either, so if I can sleep an extra half hour that I *might* be waiting for that bus then it's worth it. Generally there are cabs right outside Pop's main building so it's not a problem grabbing one. Here's a tip, tho: don't tell the cabbie you want to go to the Magic Kingdom. The taxi drop-off is outside the Transportation & Ticket Center so you'd still have to wait for the monorail to take you over to the park. If you tell them you need to go to the Contemporary Resort they will drop you there and you can walk the short distance to the park. I'd say the walk over from the Contemporary is no further than you would walk from the taxi-drop to the monorail platform then from the monorail platform to the gate. We've done cab rides all over Disney property and never paid more than $20 including tip. Have fun!

I've just learned that my return flight was pushed back to 4:45 instead of 3:30.
This is fine with me since I don't have to worry about the breakfast problem and now we might be able to stick around in the MK just a little longer and hop on some last minute rides.
So I was wondering. When we leave in the morning for breakfast should we just check out at that time. Can we leave our bags with the front desk?

This is what we do. We check out when we leave for the parks so we don't have to worry about being back to get out of the room for 11.

Bell services can hold your luggage. :)

FACT: DME pick-ups are scheduled for 3 hours plus-or-minus-15-minutes from your scheduled flight departure. Your DME materials will say that you should be at the pick-up area 15 minutes before your scheduled time. You will learn of the scheduled time on the morning of the day before your departure day (it will be hung on your doorknob or slipped under your door).

FACT: Buses start running to each of the 4 theme parks at about 6:30 a.m., regardless of the time the park itself opens. I have always known this, and have taken very early buses in the past, but I was reminded of this fact during my recent February trip. I had a Magic Kingdom-view room at Polynesian, and I often spent the early morning hours reading on my balcony. At around 6:45 a.m. or so, I could look across the lagoon and see that the MK bus area was jumping with activity, buses pouring in with people.

Seems like it would be almost be worth it to just take an early bus and lounge around somewhere outside the park until it opens. Avoid the long lines, packed buses, and get to see the rope drop. Win-win!
