Will Harry Potter 2.0 be open by late 2014?

Thanks, any idea what else will be new by then?

2013 - Antartica at SeaWorld
2013? - Something going where Soundstage 44 used to be at Universal (currently rumoured to be Transformers)
2012-2014 - FLE
2014 - Universal's Cabana Bay Resort
2014/2015 - Harry Potter 2.0
???? - the possibility of 4 new attractions at Universal/IOA, and possibly a Waterpark built onsite - some of which could be open by 2016

From what I understand, RRR was just a mess from the get-go. Most of their projects follow a much more standard timeline.

I seriously wish they had just waited until 2010 and had B&M build a similar hyper coaster to the Hollywood Dream coaster in Universal Japan. They've worked with the company before on Hulk and Dragons, and they're probably the most reliable coaster company today.

Hi,

We're currently planning on going back to Orlando in November/December 2014 to see HP2.0, Antartica and FLE.

I know that Antartica is opening 2013, FLE should be finished by 2014, but will HP2.0 be finished by Nov/Dec 2014, or may it be delayed until 2015?
2015 is the year for the whole project to be completed. At the moment.

And it will be stunning.

So, it's looking like we may have to delay the holiday for a year then!

Does that include the new potential IOA HP attraction that you mentioned elsewhere, or would that be a seperate project?

Can't wait for it (and the rest of Universal's plans) to happen - it's going to be an exciting next few years watching Universal!

I wouldn't wait for a second IOA HP ride. Details are sketchy and they have enough with phase two to deal with...

That's fine - just thought I would ask while we're talking about the HP, seeing that you mentioned it in that other thread.

The decision to wait is for whether "London" would be complete for Christmas 2014, which now seems unlikely.

Yup. Besides, they have other beasts to deal with. Of a prehistoric nature. And possibly a Seussical nature as well.

Do you think that, which ever choice they make, we will eventually end up with both? Is it just a question of which first? It looks like they're willing to spend, and it's not like they'll take over the same section of land, so it doesn't have to be a choice of one or the other for that reason!

I would not be surprised to see both in the next 5 years. I originally thought we'd be seeing Seuss first, but JP seems to have leap frogged it.

Can't wait - I'll be happy with either island gaining a new ride!

I think there's still 8 or 9 attractions over both parks that we've not yet done (excluding the children's attractions), so them (we're going to try to get them done next time - we should have FotLP, so should be able to fit them in), plus the attractions we normally do, plus London, 'Transformers', should ,ake our next time at Universal even better than before - and then with these other attractions in the planning stages, the trip after should be even better!

^^^Well, which ever of the attractions gets the go ahead first, whether it's JP or Seuss, should be open by 2014, before Potter.

Well that's great, another attraction to add the list - still going to see if we can delay by a year or so till 2015!

There's a small part of me wondering by the time we get to 2020 or so, could it be possible that USF/IOA could become the #2 and #3 parks in Florida in attendance (behind MK)?

In my opinion, IOA is already number 2. All they're doing at the Universal resort is definitely going to boost both parks significantly...and knowing that there's a few family attractions being added to IOA will really help that park become more family oriented.

I was talking about in attendance (now added that above), but yeah, over the next few years, hopefully more people will take the chance to see how good they both are!
