Will Harmonious Survive?

Thats actually a pretty good video capture of DL's shortest lived night time "streetacular" Light Magic. Like harmonious it was not as hated as one would read online. This video is an example of that. The audience applauded. IF you read online reports at the time the audience was booing and screaming bring back Main Street Electrical Parade.

But I do wonder if harmonious will last longer than Light Magic and if so how much longer.

Harmonious is growing on me. I kind of like it now. But....

I actually liked Light Magic which could be a really bad Omen for Harmonious.

For what it's worth, my friend who lives near Disneyland just came out to visit Walt Disney World. She's read the negative reviews of both shows but went to both with an open mind. She absolutely loved Harmonious but she thought Enchantment was just okay.
You brought up a good point that I haven't seen many people bring up (even staunch supporters of HarmonioUS). The crowd reactions to HarmonioUS have consistently been strong on the positive side from what I've seen on videos and livestreams. Don't want to fully admit this (due to bias towards HEA) but I've noticed a similar situation with Enchantment.

Not to say that I didn't think the general public outside of theme park "fans" would love both shows but it is nice to know that I'm not the only one who loves HarmonioUS. I think it's found that special place in my heart that a few select shows have. I know it's not the same opinion for a lot of people and that's okay. Enchantment hasn't reached the same place for me, not yet anyway. I think the finale is very good and I don't dislike Tink's entrance as much as others do because I thought it was quite clever the way they did it visually speaking. I'd say the lack of syncing between the music and the pyro in that same segment as Tink comes down bothers me more than Tink not having a set build up does.

I mean the show isn't on the level of IllumiNations, but it's not terrible. I think the real issue here are the eyesore barges that were built immobile for some reason and totally screw up the atmosphere of World Showcase.

Having seen Harminious 5 times in person, and tonights a sixth.... and uncountable amount of YouTube viewings I can confirm that tonight wasn't the best.

It looked like they were beginning to struggle halfway through the show. Lazers weren't working. Two of the Four Arms on the main Stargate Barge stopped moving during the Hunchback number. Possibly related to this this barge reduced the amounts fireworks fired. That said even the non-moving arms DID launch their fireworks for the finale part. So it's also in the realm of possibility that the reduced fireworks was not an accident.

I'm hoping it was just technical difficulties but this is Bob Cheapenit's "What do they know, the guests won't notice some more value engineering" park. Except I did.

Adding to that Bob concern is the finale did seem to be normal except for the arms that were not moving. While I noticed reductions in fireworks in other parts of the show I did not notice reductions in the Someday Finale.

Anyway here's a picture of the main show barge during the end credits. Excuse the bad Snapchat picture. I just wanted something quick and easy to edit. The two arms I circled in purple stopped moving during the Hunchback number and never moved again. Hard to see in this picture but their stopped positions do not actually match. They did continue to use their lights and water effect and even launched their fireworks but they did not move. The one circled in green, and assumably the one I cannot see from this angle, continue to work normally and is staged in the correct post-show position.

Watching tonight live to see if they have fixed the arms, if they did will they last the entire show and will last night's reduced fireworks be back?

Lets see.....

Good news, all the fireworks were present in Tonight Show. All the arms worked as they should.

Minor glitch in the right hand side screen as viewed from the main front center viewing location. It has made several appearances in several shows and I do wish they could fix that permanently, but for now I will deal. It's just an annoying Red Bar that keeps appearing.

Saw it in person for first time tonight - seemed like everything was working and decent amount of fireworks. I may be in the minority on this board but I thought the show is very entertaining. Sure it doesn't have the same meaning as Illuminations, but neither does the park in general these days. The reception from the crowd seemed very positive and notably the rest of my group who are more "casual" Disney park goers were very impressed especially the one member of the party who had never been to Epcot (or WDW) before - commented that the show was one of the coolest things they have ever seen. I can understand the disappointment of many in the slow creep of Disney IP into Epcot and Harmonious is sort of the last blow for many when it comes to that - but the reality is what were the lines for Maelstrom before Frozen vs. what they are now with Frozen? Many guests especially those with young kids are going to connect more with the IP themed attractions. Don't get me wrong.....I would have enjoyed the show more if it was an updated Illuminations ROE with the classic soundtrack and story but with updated visuals using the new platform - but I can't bring myself to say the show is garbage.

I'm not sure if there would be any information on this but I might as well ask, any word on holiday tag for HarmonioUS by either this year or next? And will the New Years celebration remain the same?

Late to the thread. We saw Harmonious on 10/3. We watched it from the raised courtyard area in Canada. I don't know if our viewing area played a role in my opinion, and it didn't appear to me that there were any technical glitches, but I thought the show was a total yawn. I just couldn't get into it. Please bring back Illuminations.

the laser show they had with Reflections of Earth towards the end was outstanding.
Reflections of earth had allot of classic Illuminations still in it not only that was the last attraction ever made that could have easily fit in with Epcot Center. Who knows, MSEP has managed to kill off 3 of its successors, Maybe Reflections of Earth can do it to us there’s anything left of it.

If they have fixed it three times and it still happens then it’s still broken
agree but my point was that this has already happened several times before now. So not only did "that didn't take long to happen" it happened much sooner then that post noticed or reported.

So if they continue to fix that then it's nothing more than a new attractions glitches. No more significant than rise of the resistance going into B or Remy closing because it's have a hiccup and has to reset.

Point well made.
