Will Harmonious Survive?

People are always so quick to declare disaster so early in the game. Look at F&F when it opened at Universal down the road. Before even being opened for a full week, the internet was abuzz with "FAILURE!!" "It's terrible!" "What a let-down." and so on. Now, after time has been allowed to pass and the attraction grow on people, who's getting the last laugh? Just because something looks like a piece of garbage upon opening, doesn't mean it can't change. If you give it time, and let it blossom into its full potential, sometimes that piece of garbage can turn out to be a glorious piece of trash.

They won't admit it but they will change it. IllumiNations 25 was changed shortly after it premiered due to poor Guest feedback. I see them keeping the name but altering the show as soon as they can come up with a new version.
What, Harmonious with classical music 😆😆, I’d actually wouldn’t mind it, maybe they can sing Ode To Joy in all diferent languages. Now that would be an honorable show.

Once the upkeep starts to pile up this may be a diferent story. Just look at Paint the Night. That had to cost at least as much as those 5 units and you don’t see that parade any more. The original show took it out. Same show also took out Spectromagic. Not saying ROE will be back and I don’t want to push any wishful thinking out there but who knows it may be dismantled piece by piece in storage. I can see them keeping those barges tho and removing everything off the top deck. No matter what they do I think those barges will be used even if they turn into fountain/ pyro barges. Just imagine tho if they used them for a new Reflections of Earth, they can run fountains the same way they do now and it wouldn’t obstruct the earth as much.

I love the new Spaceship Earth look and music. That's what we needed from Harmonious. Even Epcot Forever tugged at my heart strings. But Harmonious? Nope. Hope the find a new home for the barges.

Like I said, people think something has to be a success within 4 minutes or its dead on arrival.

Wait what? Are you trying to say that fast and the furious is well-loved now? That while it had a rough start it has grown on people? that is has been accepted as a quality attraction by the masses?

I don't think any of that is the case with the Fast and the Furious. This is not a good example.

I think it'll last in it's current form content wise, I'm starting to see better reviews after it's initial debut. The way those arms need to move though... that will be a disaster keeping it working. They will probably have the arms sit in some sort of B mode eventually. They just better hope those screens keep working unlike on Oct 1st.

You know what I find odd? The only good review I've seen so far is from Tim Tracker. (Yeah, he's back.) Made me wonder if he sugar coated his thoughts on it so Disney wouldn't boot him out again, but he wouldn't do that, would he? (Sarcasm...)

you lost your whole argument if you think Fast & The Furious is a great attraction at Universal. It's one of the worst rides in Florida and Universal knows it. Harmonious had potential to be great, but the soundtrack is horrible and doesn't flow well with the show. They will address this if feedback continues to be horrible. Especially if they can't fill dining packages.

Hard to say. I could se D'Amaro and Bob digging their heels in on it, but I could just as easily see them pull the plug and replace it with something that doesn't address any of the actual issues people have with it. Actually fixing it or bringing in a new Illuminations seems direly unlikely to me.

I do feel like people still upset about it being IP-focused are fighting a losing battle, as much as I understand them. The other criticisms are something that could be addressed... but will they? Or will they shrug their shoulders and just assume the issues were with song choice or tech or something and not the extremely mediocre presentation?

Anyone who thinks these barges are going away in the next decade or more is just kidding themselves, Disney or Bob is not going to throw away 30 million dollars for nothing. Just look at EE the yeti hasn’t worked in how long and it’s still there? If they break Disney can just put a strobe light in front it just like EE and call it a day

When I saw it in person, most of the crowd around me seemed to like it, but I can't help but wonder how much of that was more over the excitement of something new and flashy rather than the show having any substance (it doesn't). I seem to recall that people didn't initially completely trash Rivers of Light either, and even that was a much more inspired show than this.

Tom,...were you near Jackie? If so, I was about 50ft to your right. The crowd near me mostly didnt like it. I heard mosly grumbling about it.

However, there was one woman that proudly said;
"For me?,...I liked it".

In the most polite way I said:
"Oh cool....tell me why you liked it"

She then replied:
"I thought the colors were very pretty...."

How can something be a total failure if it JUST launched a few days ago? I never understood this mindset. Things take time to work themselves out and people want it to be a success within the first 5 minutes or else it's deemed a fail. Nobody is willing to let anything flesh itself out anymore, it either has to be an instant success or it's instantly a flop.
This one has prior. Apparently.
