Not a chance. No market. Besides, the Puerto Rican government has expressed dislike of American enterprise (even though Puerto Rico is an American posession), and doesn't want American operations on the island. While it would be cool and financially beneficial, it probably won't happen. Sorry.
Disney's already adding a stop in Puerto Rico on 7 and 10 night itineraries... not to mention that EVERYONE on the island has vacationed in WDW. The market is definitely there. Whether or not it can sustain a theme park can be debated. But there is no question it can sustain Disney's megaport. Having spent much of my life there, I can tell you there is a definite shortage in the variety of things to do there:
1- go to the beach
2- go to the club
3- go eating
4- see a movie
that's it... if you're lucky, a US sports team is doing an exhibition game, or there's a large concert going on.
and the PR government is not against american enterprise... it is against the Americanization of its culture (if a US company enters the PR market and makes NO attempt to appease PR culture, they will be out of business there) as are most other countries. They have nothing against the jobs and money it will create.
I can see this happening in the next 10 years. DCL is due for expansion.
so Mike... posiblemente regreso a PR a medio de Noviembre. ¿Crees que la isla esta preparada? jaja...
