Will DisneySea Ever Come?

I think Disney already learned their lesson when they opened Animal Kingdom. I don't think we need a whole new park right now. What we do need is more new, original attractions!!

Yea but you have to buy a seperate ticket for the Tokyo monorail.

It looks unique and I see why they chose it for Tokyo Disney Resort.

I LOVE DisneySea and can't wait to go back, but I don't see it being a good addition to Florida at all.

DisneySea makes a lot of sense in the location it's at. For part of the park, you look out and see the Pacific Ocean right behind Port Discovery's leaky seawall. The ocean is such a great part of this park, putting it inland in Florida would loose some of its impact. Also I'm just not sure a turn of the century New York harbor would be all that interesting a theamed land to New Yorkers and New Englanders on vacation to Florida.

But I would love to see parts of TDS come to Florida. Storm Rider is a perfect fit for Epcot's future world. Autotopia could be a good addition to Tomorrow Land. Mermaid Lagoon would go well in fantasyt land. Indy could go anywhere. Broadway review would fit great at MGM. Not sure where Mysterious Island or Sinbad would fit exactly but I'm sure the imagineers could tie it in somewhere.

Point is TDS is tailored to fit in perfectly with Japan. I don't think we'd see a clone of that in Florida anymore than we'd see a clone of DCA in Orlando.

Well, if we can't have DisneySea since Orlando doesn't have an ocean, what about DisneyLake?

Seriously, in our post 9/11 world, with all the new focus on patriotism, I wonder if Disney couldn't revive some of the concepts from the proposed Disney's America park that didn't happen.

Press release:

http://chotank.com/reledisn.html

Here's some of the concept art:

http://chotank.com/disamerdir/index.html

Looks like Kali River Rapids was first conceived for this park.

I know that Disney couldn't revive the project outright, because it was a huge marketing disaster, but maybe in a different form, some of the ideas could be incorporated into a new park.

I know that it would quickly become my favorite park, and American history was always very dear to Walt's heart.

Maybe in 2007 we'll hear some talk of a new park, after the current round of big projects is over.

I would hate it if they put the DisneySeas attractions in the current parks (since it would kill the chances of there ever being a DisneySeas in Florida).

I would have LOVED for Disney's America to have been built, as I live in Point of Rocks MD, on US 15. Disney's America was supposed to have been at US-15 & I-66 in Haymarket, VA. Infortunately, that ultra-consertive idiot Annie Snyder didn't want her world to change, so she wouldn't give up until Disney pulled out of the area. My first choice for a 5th gate would be this, hands down. BTW, anyone who thinks Disney Seas would fit well in Florida, is wrong, because it is Disney SEAS, not Disney Bayous or Disney Lakes.

That's like saying they shouldn't make an attraction callled "Mission: Space" because it doesn't really doesn't take place in space.

They can easily use forced prospective to give the illusion of a sea.

the next big project would be in Puerto Rico.

Disney's Mini City Mega Port (Disney Cruise)& Resort & Disney Seas all together in what is now a 136 acre military Base Roosevelt Roads up for sale rather sooner than later. :slurp:

No seriusly... Something is up down here with that mega port and Airport on the base.... And disney has it's nose on it with a lot of attention on the Cruise Liner and a "mega" Disney aquarium & resort... Look for news around 2007.

That sounds cool... I would go on the cruise when it goes to PR and visit a DisneySeas park. They should work it so that you spend two days in PR and have one day that you can explore the Disney area and another to actually see PR =) Disney could dock in their Resort... If anyone can make something like this happen it is Disney!! :sohappy:

It would certainly be good for a new Pirates of the Caribbean attraction!

Seriously, a Puerto Rico park would make a lot of sense and would unquestionably be a huge boost for the DCL, as many people would do combined land/sea trips to get in some time at the new park. I know that this would be a vacation that I would want to do for sure.

You know, the Disneyseas thing or aquarium, where just wishfull thinking but it would not be a bad idea at all...

All I have heard is about a port and some kind of resort or Mini Disney City for the DCL.

Lets hope Disney Buys this land...

Idea for DisneySea started in FLORIDA!

Just to let everyone know some history...

Many years ago, Sea World was for sale. Disney was one of the bidders. Disney's idea was to turn Sea World into a Disney-class theme park, renaming it to DisneySea. Thus, the name DisneySea was first coined for use in Florida!

Disney backed out of the bidding process when Sea World's price became too high for Disney's liking. Anhauser-Busch was the winner.

Not a chance. No market. Besides, the Puerto Rican government has expressed dislike of American enterprise (even though Puerto Rico is an American posession), and doesn't want American operations on the island. While it would be cool and financially beneficial, it probably won't happen. Sorry.

I dnow know if it's just me, But when I make my daily comute to my university, all I see are "American" Enterprises all around. With out amercian operations here, I don't know how the economy would run...

Just let me fill you in a little... What gets thru the media to the states is usually bad and negative stuff that only represents about 5% of the population....

You have to understand that they are 3 differnt kinds of political groups in the island.

PNP, which wants state hood and want more realtions with the US (which ocupies around 49% of the population)

ELA Which wants to stay as we are now, commonwealth of the United State or Colony what ever you want to call it ( Ocuupies 49%)

PIP which wants indepence, and are usually the ones on the news making riots or doing silly stuff like this guy going up the crown of the statue of liberty ( Ocupies 2% of the population)

So if you hear one little thing on the new about of something agaist the US remember thats the opinion of the minority.

I think the biggest thing that was heard thru the media of anti-american riots was when the Navy was taken out of Vieques. (but that was a whole new story that mixed political parties becuase Human Deaths and enviromentas damages where an issue)

So if you see a Puertorrican say negative stuff about American Enterprises, that shows how much he knows of Puerto Rico's Economy... If they hate so much the american enterprises why don't they take them down?
No
Sears,K-mart, Mc Donalds, Burger King, Wendys, Dennys, Texaco, Shell, Jc Penny, Macys, Borders, Old Navy, Radio Shack, Lilly, Priser, GM, IBM,

Just to name a few... *Thank God the Goverment dislikes American Enterprises* Sarcasm*

DOn't confuse American Military, with American Enterprises
I don't think The Puertorrican goverment would have any dislikes with American Enterprises as long as they bring in the $$$$$. The poeple might have a problem, But not the goverment. as long as there is money!

Now about Disney Seas, I know thats a long shot, that was just whishfull thinking like I said, but there is a posibility of a Disney Cruise Line Port. With a resort or somekind of "disney villiage" type of thing where the Cruise ship docks. Thats more likely to happen...

and I guess Disney would be testing the reaction of it's passengers when they add San Juan Puerto Rico as a Port of call from Agust-September on their cruise liner.

Slowly but surely they are invading...

Chek this page out, There are Links of Articles related to Disney and the Military base.

Cheers! :wave:Articles

I cant see wdw getting a new park untill after 2010. i dont know but there is so much going at the minute that i think they wait untill everything is up and running we have E.E coming in 2005 or 2006 and then the rest of the attractions are coming 2004-2005. Plus some one said mgm was a almost a full day park. We went this year in August and we were there till the park closed and still didnt get everything done. Animal kingdom is only a half day park for most people but yet i no familys who will spend a whole day in the park( we are one them). Also was there not rumors flying about Mk was meant to be getting a new land or attacion near or behind were 2000k lagoon was.
