Wilderness Lodge Question

I really should know this since I've stayed there a few times, but I don't, so maybe someone can help.

If you want one of the rooms overlooking the lobby, is this considered a standard view room? My guess is, from the balcony, you're either looking at the woods on one side or the Villas on the other, so I wouldn't think it would be a Courtyard View. Each time we've stayed at the Lodge, we've been in one of the wings on either end. I'd really love to open my door and see the lobby right away.

Suggestions?

I believe most of the lobby rooms (the ones over the front desk and Whispering Canyon) are Standard View. Though not all Standard View rooms exit out into the lobby. There are some down either wing that are also Standard View.

Though there are a few lobby rooms that are Courtyard View (the ones that look straight out toward the lake). These are occasionally referred to as the "Bear Face" rooms, as they're part of the wall of the resort that creates the bear's face on the back of the resort.

FYI, I believe many people find these rooms to be a bit noisier since they open onto the lobby.

We stayed in one once and yes it is a standard room, as a past poster stated they can be noisy but the noise stopped right at 10pm and didn;'t really start again until 8am.

The first time we stayed at WL we had a room that opened to the lobby, along with being directly over Whispering Canyon. It was noisey EVERY night. We were less than pleased by this; so when DH & I stayed there again for our anniversary last year we requested a room away from the lobby. We were given a room on the main floor (right by the doors that exit near the pool) that was quiet at night with surprisingly low traffic in the morning...

In the end it's up to you what type of room you request, but over all, WL is our favorite resort @ WDW.

We stayed in a standard view room at WL back in Dec and we were over the lobby. I also have read that some of these rooms are considered woods view. Another poster noted that some of the lobby rooms are noisy, but we stayed on the end towards the back of the lobby and heard no noise from WCC in our room.

There have been many threads on the subject of WL rooms, I have taken notes on all these and two stand out for me, when we check in, I will request rooms in either the "Otter Pond view" or " Woods view" 020 - 032 hallway. Good luck and have a great stay!

I loved the room we had..it was over guest check in and there was rocking chair right outside our room. I could sit and rock and watch the WCC. Best room we had...and the view to the outside was a woods/parking view. Well you could see the bus stops thru the trees and the far left edge of the parking lot. Just loved this room. I think we had bunkbeds also.
