Hello All!

In 100 days I will be headed to the World and will be staying at the Wilderness Lodge Villas for the first time. There will be 6 of us and one of them wanted to know if you could get a drink by the pool. I looked on the website and found there was a bar near the main pool. Do they have servers that walk around the pool area to see if you want anything to eat/drink or would he have to go to the bar to get a drink? Just wondering.

Thanks

Can't say for absolutely sure, but I seem to think that you have to go to the bar. The bar is right at poolside though. If you are at the 'quiet pool' by the villas though you are on your own. It's not anywhere near the bar.

You have to go to the pool bar to order a drink....servers do not walk around but the bar is right there at the pool. Find a pool chair near the bar and you are all set. Have a good stay at the WL....we love it there being our 2nd favorite after the CR. :cat:

We were there a month ago and spent many pleasant afternoons at the WL pool. The bartenders didn't "circulate," but the pool bar is only a 60-seconds-or-less stroll from anywhere around the main pool. (Add an extra 90 seconds if you're coming over from the nearby "quiet pool" near the Villas.) They are very pleasant and friendly, and will also cheerfully serve you iced water if that's all you want.

There is some seating in the shade right at the bar, as well as lounge chairs and tables around the pool area (although a lounge chair is often difficult to find. People seem incapable of reading and understanding the signage all over the place that politely asks them not to "reserve" chairs with towels and personal items while they spend 2 hours in the pool and never return to the chair! We consistently found about 25 percent of the chairs occupied with bodies, and the other 75 percent merely "reserved" by a stray towel or pair of sandals, and we were hesitant to move other peoples' belongings. The CMs did nothing to enforce the "no reserving" rule or to assist guests in need of a chair. The first day, I literally spent 30 minutes sitting on a rock until a lounge chair finally opened up. The best we were ever able to do was to find 2 chairs for the 6 of us to share by rotating in and out. YMMV.) Also, don't forget your flip-flops -- the cement around the pool gets scalding hot, so walking around barefoot (no matter how many delicious umbrella drinks you may have had) is not an option! :)
