So you make your decision what resort to stay at.But what is your number one reason for picking that particular resort. Is it the price? Or the location ? I've often wondered what is the main reason when deciding where to stay.

we like to stay at different resorts each trip. we like trying new things. but we still factor in location for the resorts we stay at the longest. we love the walk from contemprary to MK and the walk to both HS and EP from YC, BC, and BW.

Always the Polynesian. (like everyone doesnt know that LOL) I love being able to pick, easy modes of transportation! But the main reason, is nostalgia. The first time we stayed at the Poly was when DS was 7 (our very first trip was when he was 3 and stayed at POFQ when it was Dixie Landings) and he's now 23. A day of vacation doesn't go by without me hearing "Hey Mom, remember this????". As much as I love Disney, I have to admit, one of the highlights of my Disney vacations, is looking into my 23 year old's eyes, and seeing that 3 year old from years ago.

It's a combo of price and location for us. I'd love to try a deluxe but it's just not in the budget. Looking at the map of the property, CSR is centrally located and it's a very nice resort. We have stayed at ASM which is at the very south end of WDW and the bus rides prove it too. If I had my choice, we would certainly stay at one of the monorail resorts.

I guess for me, the value for the money is very important since I really do not spend as much time at the resort as I would like to. We usually only go for 5 nights so I rarely get to see the pool and I almost never eat at the resort other than a quick breakfast here and there. I should stay in a value since I only see the bed and shower, but the beds are only double size so that is a deal breaker for me. The only moderate I have stayed at is POFQ. I absolutely love it there and see no reason to look any further. I have stayed there probably 5 times now. It is small and nicely themed and it makes me happy. I have stayed at a few of the deluxe resorts and really want to stay at the Wilderness Lodge again, but will only do so if I can go for at least 7 nights so I get a little bit of time at the resort to make it worth my money. I have also stayed off site and have enjoyed that very much too.

For me it's a no brainer value!!! Why well because I'm an airline employee and the discounts are to great not to stay there.. Plus I try and go to the world 2 to 3 times a year for short vacations... Flights are cheap and hotels are cheap the only thing I'm really paying for are the hopper passes!!!

for me it depends on who i'm traveling (which family members and how many) with and where we'll be spending most of our time. i always check out the special offers first and often will choose a resort from there (only consider rack rates during value season) BUT we also will pick based on where we plan to spend the most time. when we go during the summer with the granddaughter we like the ability to get to/from the parks to the resort for afternoon breaks/swimming quickly so we often pick either a monorail loop (easy to/from mk and epcot) or por/pofq. when we go in the fall during f&w we like the boardwalk area resorts or cbr for quick trips to/from epcot. overall, my favorites are the monorail loop and por/pofq moderate resorts. i particularly like the ab rooms at por when i travel with say my daughter and granddaughter...granddaughter likes the little murphy style kids bed and we all get to sleep better sleeping in same room but not same bed. and of course then there's the "lets try somewhere new" so in all so far and some multiple times we've stayed at the contemporary, gf, poly, wl, cbr, por, pofq, csr, ssr treehouses, bwi, movies, music, sports...i think that's all of them lol. the value resorts i don't like so much but are great when the budgets tight so i'm glad they're there don't get me wrong just not my favorites.

For our party it is price. We look at the room as somewhere to sleep and shower; its just that simple. As long as our Key to the Kingdom does not say "second class key", we will continue to stay at the values. For the price difference to move to a Mod, we could updrade the DDP, or add days to our trip.

Price. Location. .

We where intent on returning again after our May trip and found that the Beach Club was only £300 more than our usual haunt, POFQ.

The location is perfect as Epcot is my favourite park and given that we always make sure to visit Beaches & Cream, we are long time admirers of the Beach Club, and the fact that every time my son sees Stormalong Bay he always asks if he can jump in. Next trip he can.

#1- Price. I have expensive taste but not an expensive budget. If I can't afford it, then it's a no brainier... It doesn't happen.

#2- Interest. Does the theme catch my interest? Does the hotel look like someplace I'd like to stay.?

#3- Amenities. What does the hotel offer? Are the rooms nice? Is the pool nice?

#4- Number of visits. I'd like to stay all of the WDW resorts so I'll choose the hotel I haven't stayed at first.

#5- Location. I really like to feel like I'm in the middle of the magic, so I'll choose a place that's no on the outskirts of the property.

Good question. I think our first consideration is the proximity of the resort to our favorite park, which is Magic Kingdom. Our second consideration is what we're able to afford at the time. If we're in a position to spend a little more than normal, we'll go for a monorail resort (usually the Poly, but still looking to stay at the Contemporary at some point). If we're unable to spend a little more, then we'll go with the Wilderness Lodge, which is the cheapest of the deluxe MK area resorts......though not cheap in quality, and always a great stay.

Location, cleanliness, comfort, customer service. I love to be on the Monorail line and I'm dreading our next trip bc it's going to be the first time we're staying off-site (my husband's idea).

Alas, I am a poor student so price is a first at this time. Hopefully that will change one day when I finally get a job. When my family went when I was younger, it was at first price in the first trips and then I'd say it became about atmosphere and location (stayed at Poly and Beach Club...love those two!).

Location - both of my parents are in their late 70's and they rent scooters from an off-site place so it makes it nice to stay at Beach Club where they can ride to Epcot or HS. It's also location when I can talk my husban into going with me, he only goes to WDW about once every 5 years and he would never survive in a value resort with all the kids.

I stay at the Deluxe Resorts because I like to show off at the parks bus stations.

See - how I play that is have my ADR for deluxe resorts and then I can join the upper crust.

Really though, I have stayed many places and love Poly, love cabins but can't afford these this time so we will stay at the mods - which is our usual.

what makes pofq our pick? Everything else equal (basically) I lean to the boat to DTD. :D

For me, it is all about location. I stay at the BC because I can walk into the World Showcase easily, take a boat the DHS and have access to a lot of nice restaurants.
I have also had a lot of great trips there and now I associate that hotel with a great vacation experience.
