Should non resort guests use the buses?

That would turn away all the locals and non-Disney guests that bring their money into DTD. If anything, they should only let guests on the buses with valid park tickets or room keys.

I prefer they find some other system then buses for transport. Something futuristic.. sleek.. efficient.. maybe on an elevated rail. Sadly, no such system exists.

1) As someone stated, there are parking garages/lots in New York City that charge waaaaaaaaaaaaay more than Disney.

Actually, it was in any major city :)

2) I am an AP holder, and I was not required to pay to park at any of the hard ticketed events that I recently attended.

And you got lucky. They can charge, and have charged other AP holders in the past

4) While hard to enforce at DTD, you cannot park in any resort parking lot and take the monorail/bus to a park. During busier times of year, you are given a tag to put in your windshield stating how long you can park in a lot. If you have no reason to be there (we're here to drink or shop or look around) you get a 3 hour parking pass. If you have ADRs, you get a 6 hour parking pass. THIS IS ENFORCED - I have seen two trucks hooking up cars in parking lots, and the only people there were the tow truck driver and Disney security - no guests.

How can you be certain that those cars were towed for that reason, and not any other? WDW parking lots are a place where car thieves drop off stolen cars.

I cannot be sure, that is true. But I was unaware that theives made a habit of dropping off stolen cars in resort parking lots. I've seen this at the Contemporary and Poly, both monorail resorts, which kind of led me to that assumption. Both were during 'busy' season as well. And police were not involved - just Disney security.

But I have been wrong before

And as for my statement about New York city's parking fees, that is the only major city I've ever parked in, so it's the only one I can comment on.

It would bother me and make me really upset if....the bus were full and my family was forced to stand. Then I would get really ticked off. Acutally, I have found the bus system to and from Downtown Disney to be the worse line in terms of timeliness. We have waited forever for a Downtown Disney bus. Still, love the World of Disney store and Wolfgang Pucks [both locations].

Ahh.. those details were missing from the first post. It could well have been that then, or cars that had been there a while without movement. I know that for Disney to open itself up to liability of moving a car they don't own it takes quite a bit... they need to have a damn good reason to move that car other than just someone parking where they weren't supposed to.

And as for my statement about New York city's parking fees, that is the only major city I've ever parked in, so it's the only one I can comment on.

San Francisco it cost me $30 for a day, DC $25, Miami $24... you get the point. What shocked me was New Orleans... $25!

Hell, here in San Juan it costs around $20 for a day. Don't even get me started on what I've paid to park overseas.

Paying to park at WDW is a bargain in comparison.
