Yeah so I am tremendous Tool.

Why isn't Rainforest Cafe on the dining plan. That's terrible!

I know, I know... it's not Disney owned or, whatever... but, neither is Planet Hollywood, Wolfgang Pucks... I mean, c'mon! I LOVE Rainforest Cafe'... but I'm a college kid, so... My gf and I had been trying to find a trip to Disney for like, 5 months, and then this finally came along and we knew we'd be set with it. That way we could come down, bring couple hundred each to spend for our own reasons, and not have to worry about food budget... and not have to worry about spending too much on food so not enough to buy gifts and what not. But, no rainforest...

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! :brick:

Man... this is like A-rod's name being announced at Fenway... the crowd does not like it!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I've just decided now.. I'm gonna make this a poll

WHO WANTS RAINFOREST??? (this doesn't matter)

I agree that some change should occur. The reason their food is subpar, in my opinion, has to do with the number of diners in the restaurant at one time and the number of menu items they have. Does anyone remember their menu - It is HUGE. I'm talking like 75 to 100 items. It's bad enough choosing. Many (not all) good restaurants are characterized by having a diverse menu of less than 30 items (they can change they menu weekly or monthly to keep guest coming). As far as capacity goes, I cannot see how the entrees could be consistent with that many diners and that many entrees. Cafeterias and buffets seem to cater crowds this large better than table service with large menus.

If you think their menu is huge you should try eating at The Cheesecake Factory The menu is like 12 pages long. Their food is priced about the same, but is much better and you get huge portions. We have one up the road from us and we can usually get two or three meals out of one meal there.

Because it stinks since they (the original owners, not Disney, they never owned it) sold it. We have a Rainforest Cafe here and it stinks as well.

The current owners are the food chain that own Capn' D's. Hence the "Rainforest Calimari".

I love the atmosphere, but the food quality stinks since they redid their menu a few years back.

Yes I was saying it would be nice to have a sit-down restuarant in the Animal Kingdom. The Rainforest Cafe is as close as one would get. I myself am not a fan of those theme type restuarants (Planet Hollywood Hard Rock etc.) So it would be nice to see what type of sit-down eatery Disney would develop. They did a great job developing the Animal Kingdom dining options so I always wonder what they would come up with if they were to develop sit-downs in the park!

They will have them as soon as the park is open later on a consistant basis. They need the dinner crowd to make it, lunch just isn't going to cut it for more than one location, such as Rainforest Cafe.

I would probably pick anywhere to eat over the RainForest. The atmosphere is nice, but the food is not spectacular by any means and its overpriced.

Ditto.

However, hen I travel to the world with someone who wants to go, I schedule a light lunch - just a burger, sandwich, or appetizer. This way you get to experience the atmosphere at a reasonable cost. I do the same at San Angel Inn - love the atmosphere and the appetizers, the rest I do without.

If you really want to try Rainforrest, perhaps this is the way to go - especially if you schedule a light lunch on a night when you will be using the dining plan to it's fullest (the three courses can really add up!).

I wanted to try Rainforest since it was built, but the budget never allowed. So when I went in 12/03, I decided that my friend, and stepmom and I, should try it. I had the Magambo Shrimp, and we enjoyed it, but you're right, the price seems steep. Then this February, we had the $ to take the family. My boys really enjoyed the atmosphere and they got burgers, which they enjoyed. BigDon, on the other hand, took two bites of his stuffed fish, and pushed it away. He said he should have known better trying seafood outside of the New Orleans area.
I don't think we would go back except if the boys would like to, but they are getting older and may not get into the animatronic animal thing much longer.

For 4 of us; it was $108.00 .

Also, the Plaza Restaurant in MK is really very good and not very expensive, everyone seems to forget about it. You can check out the menus and prices at www.allears.net.

For the life of me, I can place this restaurant in the MK. Could you please tell me where it is located?

One of our favorite restaurants at WDW

The food (we've experienced) is great, different and reasonably priced.
The atmosphere is amazing.
The service is Disney quality.
I would recommend joining their safari club, it pays for itself, it is lifetime, and best of all gets you in quick when others are waiting an hour or more.
It gives you either a free appetizer ($8 value) or 10% off your bill or in the store.
An annual pass gives you 15% off in the store (and the restaurant), so there are already good discounts available.

You are right (from what I hear) about the Cheescake Factory. Although I've never dined their, I'm sure the food is good. Some people can just pull off this type of service (very rare):slurp: . BTW, if you want a good cheesecake, you should try some of my dad's. He part-owns a small-business cheesecake company.:slurp:

Thank You DISNEYCHIK17 and SLAPPY MAGOO!!!

I have walked past this restaurant a million times and never realized what it was. Always thought it was part of the ice cream shop.

And Ferris Bueller rocks !!! Many, many one liners from that film - glad to meet a fellow fan.
