Why No NEW Toontown in FLE?

Why won't disney make a brand spanking new toontown in the fle? we got enough stuff geared towards 5 yr old girls in the new fle with the princesses, why add pixie hollow too? couldnt they make one of the best toontowns in all of the disney parks with all the new space they will have? It just doesnt make sense that the Magic kingdom is #1 and Mickey and the gang will have no homes there, but just some lame photo backdrops as a home? It doesnt make sense. (Disney if you're reading this, dust off all the old plans for toontown, create some new ones, and make a fully fledged, fully immersive, toontown, and we'll call it even for adding so much princess stuff)

I simply don't think ToonTown was particularly popular. Princess pull better for the little girl demographic, and little boys are more interested in pirates and cowboys.

Also, regarding Mickey's home, I think this is borderline insane but Disneyland enthusiasts will chew your ear off about Mickey's "real" home being in California, and that ToonTown in Florida was simply his "vacation home." I can't cite the source of this other than it's the argument always given in "other" message board sites.

If they were to make a new improved Toontown as part of the FLE they would probably use the area that they have now and just make a massive refurbishment there, destroying a TT just to build another one a few yards away from the original location would probably look like a big waste of money for TDO.

Since the current TT area is already assigned to become a Dumbo-themed area, with some parts of the Pixie Hollow maybe extending into its boundaries, TT will be gone for good.

That is the best explanation I can come up with.

Wouldn't make thematic sense.

They should put TT in DHS where Narnia and One Mans Dream are now.

I, most sincerely, would boycott DHS if this were ever to happen. One Man's Dream (the film and tour) is the entire reason I go to DHS in the first place (okay, ToT isn't bad either). Of course, this drives everyone in my party nuts but to me there's something very haunting about that place.

Well technically WDW never had a Toon Town, WDW had Mickey's Toon Town Fair.

Nice avatar!

WDW's Toontown seems pretty popular to me. On busy afternoons, I've seen the line for the Barnstormer exceed 1 hour, the line just to get in Minnie's House spill out into the street, and both Mickey and Minnie's House becoming so crowded that you can barely move inside. On these days, the line to Meet Mickey also exceeds 1 hour and spills out of the Judge's Tent and fills up Mickey's backyard. I think the "Fab 5" are still pretty popular with a lot of kids and the popularity of the "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" on Disney channel probably helps.

I agree that the idea is silly that we supposedly can't have a Toontown at the MK because DL already has "the real one". I guess our versions of all the other attractions that DL also has are not "the real ones" either!

I know it's popular to bash Toontown (especially WDW's) but personally, I'm a big fan of the area and will be really sad to see it go. I think this section is criminally underated. I think Mickey and Minnie's Houses are very charming, and I love all the details, propping, gags, and overall whimsy found inside. Plus, this music loop in Toontown Fair is one of my favorites in all of WDW, as it consists of very catchy, whimsical tunes from the classic Silly Symphony shorts and "Fab Five" character shorts from the 20's and 30's.

They should put TT in DHS where Narnia and One Mans Dream are now.

Although my first choice would be for Toontown to stay in the MK, if it were the only way to save it I'd be all for moving the Houses to the studios as part of a larger Toontown (complete with the the long-awaited Roger Rabbit ride) but PLEASE not at the expense of Walt Disney: One Man's Dream! It was bad enough when the WALT DISNEY Story was removed from the MK at WALT DISNEY World. WDW did the right thing to eventually expand and update the attraction at the Studios as WALT DISNEY: One Man's Dream.

This is one of my faves at the Studios park! I easily spend over an hour on each visit enjoying the exhibits depicting Walt's life and work, and all the great memorabilia from the classic films and parks. And I LOVE the film which caps off a nice tribute to the man who started it all, without whom WALT DISNEY World would not even exist!

Surely WDW is large enough ("There's enough land here to hold all the ideas and plans we can possibly imagine") that there should always be room for this wonderful tribute to the great Walt Disney!

At the end of the day Mickey's Toon Town Fair wasn't a reason to go to WDW. But the FLE with princesses and fairies will bring people to WDW.

More people = more $$$

I know this will never happen, but since they are moving the M&Gs to Expo Hall, why don't they do a little ode to WFRR and put a massive red curtain at the back of Expo hall and behind it build an indoor toontown east of main street in the parking lot and former tomorrowland theater area. Think of the possibilities.....

How about the ToonTown from Roger Rabbit featuring the fab five in DHS? Not replacing One Man's Dream, I love that, but maybe over in the Animation Courtyard somewhere, that area seems under-utilized.

It's not realistic, but would be cool.

It seems to work fine at Disneyland and Tokyo Disneyland. Placing it at the studios would have to rely more on the Roger Rabbit mythology.

Mickey's Toon Town at Disneyland and Tokyo Disneyland, while not done in name, was about exploiting Roger Rabbit. He is still gone for the time being, so a new Toon Town lacks the proper synergy.

Toon town fair is my least favorite spot in the magic kingdom. Im glad its going away, aside from the barnstormer its just a playland with meet and greets. I agree that it also just wouldnt fit right with the new FLE.

Noooooooooo! I'd be fine with replacing Narnia, but I like the historic aspect of One Man's Dream. If you're gonna get rid of anything, get rid of the HISTK playground.

I think you've nailed it. Not only would it be a waste of money, but I can't imagine that Imagineering would get jazzed creatively about rebuilding something that was already there.

I wandered into Toontown by mistake once...it was horrible.

Did I miss something or is toontown getting removed???? Granted the only time I went in there was to see the fairies and get Tinkerbell's auto for my DD but I didn't think it was HORRIBLE.

Granted it wasn't designed up to par like the other areas of MK but it has it's place. I didn't even get to check out Mickey's house yet!

By the way did anyone besides myself hate that you can't really look at Minnie's or other people's experience Mickey's house with all the details inside? I felt the whole time in Minnie's house that I was being rushed. I would try to look at something and the line of people behind me were trying to push me through.

This was in October nevertheless! When the parks are less busy and I hear that Mickey's house is even worst. Maybe it's just me but I could spend 5 to 10 mins just checking everything out and it seems you can't because your being rushed out by the wave of people.

Can I assume it's even worst in the summer?

This is exactly why I didn't like it...I wanted to walk through the houses but everyone was pushing so much, and I felt like I was constantly on the verge of accidentally stepping on someone's child.
