Welcome to Walt Disney World's newest Value Resort, the New York Inn. Step inside to one of our classier resorts as we pamper you in Disney style, all fashioned after our Hollywood Studio's Streets of America!

Yes folks, make your reservations immediately, as space is limited and demand is sure to skyrocket quicker than the fireworks at Wishes. We'll be here waiting!
Hey, I think I've seen that hotel! It was build by Joe 'realism' Rohde, wasn't it? :D

Honestly (no one hate me plz) I think the value resorts are tacky. :zipit: I mean they're cute, I feel like if I were older, married and had children I would stay there because I'm sure its a good way to save money, but if I was going with my boyfriend, or a group of adults I feel like its a little strange. I'm not saying they have to be so elaborately themed like a deluxe, but the huge movie icons seem too childish for me. :zipit:

I get it....

I agree. While I still love the theming of the values it won't be long before my kids are too old for the over-the-top theming. My older son, at 14, is kind of already there. My younger son who is 10 still gets it. We are planning on staying at the Art of Animation in 2013 and after that it would be nice to stay someplace a bit more "grown-up", I guess you could say. I think a more grown-up, classier value property would be a jackpot for hoardes of people. It might make it more accessible for people with older kids or no kids with them at all. I think that's a terrific idea! :sohappy:

If you do a quick search on trip advisor you will see plenty of nice hotels right outside the parks that average between 79 to 100 dollars that are themed nicely with nice pools. Being that disney wants to keep these guest on site so they don't "waste money" else where this would fill a good niche imho

How would YOU theme it?

Describe a sophisticated value theme for me that isn't bland like a Days Inn or Motel 6.
I'll save you all my armchair engineering.

I'll leave to the world's biggest creative company though to come up with something less stale than 'oversized objects + disharmonious colour scheme'.

Last year we stayed at CBR for a weekend and we were really disappointed to see how they had changed the rooms there to a Nemo theme. We liked the "Caribbean" feel the resort used to have, and with Nemo taking place in Australia, the whole theme just didn't make sense. DH even commented that he felt like CBR was just a higher priced value resort now.

OH MY!!!!! Who wouldn't stay in Radiator Springs!!! Oh Disney you have to do it. Cozy cones, the whole little town looking thing and Flo's Diner.. So much fun All the cars there in the eating area for seating like Sci Fi only the cars from the movie... You cannot tell me you would stay there.. Could there be an area kinda call if affordable but Fun!!! They could even have a winnebego park part for fun,,oh I could come up with more and more. I design childrens furnishings fun and whimsical so they could hire me to do the painting or designing. I would love to work for Disney..

Pretty much sums up the whole Disney ecxperience to me. The theme, immersion and fun are forever deteriorating the more Walt Disney World becomes cartoonified.

If I wanted to see cartoons I'd go over to Nickelodeon and Universal. But I don't want to subject my kids to such infantile poor taste, which sadly becomes ever more difficult to avoid at WDW too.

There is a classy value, it's called a moderate. And there's a classy moderate, it's called a deluxe. You get what you pay for.
Very true.

However, there is still class at every budget level. For example, the difference between a stylish single colour scheme, say off-white, and crass pink with big yellow dots and purple stripes.
It is just paint, neither is more expensive, but one makes a classy resort and the other a zoo.

I am talking nostalgia with route 66 themeing fun yet more adult.. Why not have some fun with it.. Oh well I find the Mods and Deluxes nice but when I am at Disney Mickey and cartoons and the movies he made IS what Disney is about. If you want to sleep in Africa go to Africa same with the Hawaii themed hotel etc. Disney is supposed to be fun.

I don't understand why some people seem to confuse "classy" (and i used that only cause i couldn't think of a better adjective at the time) and money. There is no reason why they can't build the same hotel as say the POP but instead of spending the money on the 25 ft statues they spend it on nice walk ways with some nice lighting and landscaping and still charge the value resort rate. Again i am not looking for a clone of the Yacht club or Grand Floridian at a budget price but just something alittle tone downed. Again just cause certain people are on a tight budget and maybe can't afford the upgrade to a Moderate there is still no reason for the only options of a value resort being what is there currently

I totally understand this. I will not pay the Deluxe prices not even if I were filthy rich. Really why is it so much better to pay 300-500 a NIGHT to lay your head on and take a shower. Really we all come to Disney to have fun if you are there to only eat and lay around your room and money is no object then go for it. I get treated just the same at the values in housekeeping buses etc. I think that sounds good the lighting etc. But I def do not want a Contempory looking blah resort that would be a value. That is what I see when I think of classy but value. Just hate chrome and black and white with no character to it. Nor do I thing we need more huge statues. Nostalgic to the movies from the 40's and 50's I know this would not suit everyone, but it sounds like on here there will be no one who likes either top dog or low cost.

Ahhh you beat me to it!

Oh, there's no fire in the fireplace
There's no carpet on the floor
Don't try to order dinner
There's no kitchen anymore
But if the road's been kinda bumpy
And you need to rest a spell
Well, welcome home to Happiness Hotel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad to hear someone had the same idea

Pops: Hey, how you guys fixing to pay?
Kermit: What are our choices?
Pops: A) cash, B) credit card, C) sneak out in the middle of the night.
Fozzie: We'll take "C."
Pops: Very popular choice.

Yup the addition of chaaracters has certainly dumbed down the Disney Resorts. Nemo at Caribbean Beach makes the rooms feel cartoony. They are a far cry from the unique island feel of the original room concept.

Beach Club rooms and common areas are loaded with Little Mermaid post refurb. Why an "Eastern Seaboard Martha's Vineyard of the 1880s" needs Little Mermaid characters is beyond me. It totally ruined the original theme of a "grand seaside resort."

Characters are far too prominent at many non Value Resorts.
