Ya`ll should try DLPs PotC. You`d love it!

After your boat leaves the loading area and glides out into the bayou, it's the giant restaurant on the terrace of the plantation house to your right. The tables on the terrace look out towards the bayou and the passing boats. The dozens of flickering candles on the tables, plus the people eating, and the waitresses and busboys serving people are the tip-off that it's a restaurant. You sail past the terrace for about a minute as you go through the bayou scene and towards the first drop.
Are you sure you went to Disneyland and rode Pirates of the Caribbean?
Whats the diff?Ya`ll should try DLPs PotC. You`d love it!
For sure, but 1 I was on the left of the boat 2x, 2 I was shocked how closely it resembled the 2nd movie (I didn't know it would be like this beforehand), 3 it was so crowded outside of PoTC that I never imagined something else could be there, 4 as I was walking up to it I could see boats passing me to go dock and finally 5 I have TERRIBLE vision, so if I did glance over, I most likely thought it was a continuation of the decour on the left.

I thought they were added in the 99/00 rehab. Anyway' that 97 refurb was very infamous among Disneyland fans. The three Spanish solider animatronics were added to the fort in Disneyland's Pirates during the big 1997 rehab.
Ours was cheezy.
Disneyland's is awesome.

With PotC DLP; it`s on 3 floors, is much longer, has a restaurant, 3 drops, lift hill, A-100 animatronics, great audio system, engaging storyline, dozens of visual effects, railroad goes through it....Whats the diff?
No, because air fair to Paris is considerably more expensive than gas for a 2-1/2 hour car ride to WDW.:lol:With PotC DLP; it`s on 3 floors, is much longer, has a restaurant, 3 drops, lift hill, A-100 animatronics, great audio system, engaging storyline, dozens of visual effects, railroad goes through it....
need I go on?
Okay. Point taken. No, because air fair to Paris is considerably more expensive than gas for a 2-1/2 hour car ride to WDW.
I don't care if I get to walk through the portrait corridor or ride an escalator to see Little Leota, I'd much rather have the Library, Music Room and staircase scene on the ride itself.
Oh I'm sure I'd love DLP's Pirates.
Animanic got it right, its the same thing, the DL walkway is the begining of the WDW ride, I'd much rather have an extra minute on the ride as opposed to having people stop and crowd my way in the hall (the bottle necking is ALREADY bad enough without the paintings and the moving faces)See, I knew someone would know the answer to all those questions on here!
I don't know if I'd call MK's HM "better". Its a wash in my book. Yes, there are a couple of added scenes in the MK version, but the walkway to the Doom Buggies is very neat, not to mention the whole stretching room thing is SO much better in DL. I actually got a little dizzy looking straight up when I was moving down, unlike the MK version.
I think Splash Mountain is better in DL. Its longer, has more AAs (and the dog spinning in the big leaf or whatever it was is hilarious) and they were actually working! Plus the drop is a bit steeper in DL. The only way the MK one is better is the boats. The boats in DL are PAINFUL on my back when going up a lift hill. Sitting forward helps, though!
This is deteriorating into a DL vs. MK thread. Oh well.
MK has a better Peter Pan though! :lookaroun
WOW that train goes through it! I dont know if im just a freak or what, but I LOVE it when transportation vehicles/lazy rides (train, tta) go through rides, that's the only reason why i go on them! Plus a more indepth storyline is good enough for me WDW's hardly feels like it even has one, it has very loose ends, (esp with that addition of jack sparrow)With PotC DLP; it`s on 3 floors, is much longer, has a restaurant, 3 drops, lift hill, A-100 animatronics, great audio system, engaging storyline, dozens of visual effects, railroad goes through it....

LOL wow same thing for me, but the other directionNo, because air fair to Paris is considerably more expensive than gas for a 2-1/2 hour car ride to WDW.
Ooh! I know, I know! (Total Pirates Geek here)
The three Spanish solider animatronics were added to the fort in Disneyland's Pirates during the big 1997 rehab. That's when Tony Baxter added in about a half dozen new animatronics that he had salvaged from the old World of Motion attraction at Epcot. A World of Motion fan could probably look at them and figure out where they came from as their faces weren't changed, just their clothes swapped out for Spanish soldier uniforms.
The cannon air blast was added to Disneyland's version in the 2007 rehab. There's a couple of different times where you can get "hit" in that scene, and the blasts come from the Wicked Wench pirate ship.
The sword fighting pirates done in silhouette on the fort were also added in Disneyland's big 1997 rehab. I have never noticed them in the WDW version.
And yes, many West Coasters find it ironic that many attractions shared between both parks are bigger/longer/grander at the physically smaller park. Disneyland has about a dozen additional attractions that Magic Kingdom lacks entirely as well, several that are big E Tickets, but that's a whole other topic.
But the Magic Kingdom walkways sure are W-I-D-E aren't they? Walt always said "there ought to be a place where families can stroll along wide walkways together".
At least MK has longer HM and a more comfortable/efficient log design for Splash Mountain (that wasn't a "Save the America Sings AAs" campaign). Plus CoP, Country Bears, TTA, and Astro Orbitor on top of TTA track.
Seeing as how its an opinion I don't anyone has it "right". You might agree with him, but that doesn't make you anymore "right".Animanic got it right, its the same thing, the DL walkway is the begining of the WDW ride, I'd much rather have an extra minute on the ride as opposed to having people stop and crowd my way in the hall (the bottle necking is ALREADY bad enough without the paintings and the moving faces)

FWIW, I prefer the exterior of the DL mansion, entrance hall of the WDW mansion, the stretching room of the DL mansion, the Doom Buggy boarding area of the DL mansion, the ride through of the WDW mansion (by a slim margin) and the exit of the DL mansion. Like I said, to me its a wash.

It's not, by saying "he's right" its the samething as saying "i agree with...", just trying to spice up the verbage, its ok not to take everything so literal. The props for both were built at the SAME time, so honestly it's not like it's that big of a competition.

Like I know everything you said about the mansion is your opinon, and i didnt mean to insult you (if i did) but by me repeating what animanics said im just stealing without giving him credit.
To be specific I think the exterior of WDW is better (b/c of the decour and ambiance that it creates not only with the grave stone and stuff, but after the turnstiles you get this feeling that theres not turning back, but when your in the DL line i always feel like the queue isnt leading you into the mansion, your just waiting outside of it. Also this includes the entrance hall too, i think they go hand in hand
Streaching room i dont remember, i dont put too much thought into either anymore b/c ive seen it so many times (and im tired of lil punk preteens thinking there so cool by screaming like a lil girl)
Boarding area of DL, i hate WDW's it bottlenecks like a mother and angry people just cut you off and get all y, or other people think your cutting them b/c they're looking around and not walking, WDW's needs to be fixed.
Ride WDW, exit dont remember
No problem, not insulted.
I think the exterior of the DL is far superior to the WDW one, mainly because I think its creepier. Just personal preference, of course.
Naturally, if you want to figure in the holiday overlay then DL wins hands- (or claws-) down!
Its really not that big of a deal. I think they are both great and pretty equal, unlike Pirates. After riding the DL version of Pirates the WDW one feels like the Cliff's Notes version. It does have that queue, though!
At the end of the day, I'd rather be riding any of these rides in whatever incarnation than working, so that must say something!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haunted_Mansion_HolidayI didn't know about this holiday thing until just recently, does it have to do with nightmare before christmas? and like whats the whole deal with it (link plez if you dont wanna type)?
