Why is Ariel's Adventure ride an e-ticket?

I'm not one to usually question respected insiders, but are you sure? All the rumors I've heard from knowledgeable DLR fan circles put mermaid as an E ticket of the "classic" sense (immersive & detailed, large amount of AAs, latest tech, good attraction size). I guess it would depend on your standard. If the baseline standard for a non-thrill E ticket in WDW is SSE or Horizons, then it could possibly fall short (mainly due to size I believe). But, if your standard is based on say Haunted Mansion, I think Mermaid will do nicely as an E. Unless there's some major difference between the DCA and MK versions. I was also under the impression that WDI considered it an E, even if Disney would rather market it as "a major family attraction" since I guess they too feel that most think only thrill rides are E worthy... sigh.

I don't usually speak out on things like this but if TLM isn't a Haunted Mansion-style full on E ticket, I will be completely disappointed in the whole FL update.

I was just wondering about this. From what I know e-ticket rides are fast and thrilling (i.e. Splash Mountain and The Tower of Terror). I heard that Ariel's Adventure is going to be an omnimover. Why is this an e-ticket? Omnimovers move very slow. I would love another e-ticket, but I just kinda don't understand... hehe. Help me out here?? :)

The original "E-Ticket" designation was more based on HRC or Hourly Ride Capacity. The more people who could ride it per hour, the larger the ticket. More costly the ticket, more people who can ride it per hour means more money per hour. (...or so goes the "Rollercoaster Tycoon" math.)

Small World & Haunted Mansion have the largest HRC at MK.

Hope that helps.

Interesting, this debate keeps coming up.. and now it's going on at the same time in two separate threads. I don't see the point in debating what kind of ticket this ride will be.. seeing as that system is obsolete and no longer relevant.

That being said, Bob Weis said this was an E-Ticket at the Blue Sky Cellar presentation.. and i've read elsewhere that this will be a Family E-Ticket. Then we have insiders here claim it is a D.. very confusing.

It's confusing because Disney is lying. When was the last attraction built that they weren't claiming was an E-ticket at some point in the development? Everything is an E-ticket now because someone in management came to the conclusion that unless they unveil something new as an "E-ticket" then the public won't care.

Everything new is either a show, a meet & greet, or an E-ticket.

basically a "e-ticket" ride is based on how much disney spends on building/running the attraction. The more expensive/large the attraction is, will most likely be "e-ticket" like Hall of presidents, TSMM, etc
