Why is 7DMT ride so popular?

That's because it has a launch and multiple inversions to make up for it. Not to mention that it's a smooth ride which is shock considering most Vekoma coasters have a reputation for being rough. I'm of the opinion that coaster enthusiasts don't care about time or ride duration but what they care about the most are the elements that the coaster goes through, the smoothness of the track and if applicable, the restraints.

And here's a number to look at: 2,000. That's the number of feet in coaster track for 7DMT. No wonder it's so short.....
Basically, that is the point. The length of the ride is of no consequence to those that enjoy it. Anymore then the time length of RnRC is of no consequence to those that get enjoyment from the inversion and the launch. It still is short, but, a completely different experience. Smoothness is pretty evident on 7DMT as well.

Why are people obsessed with the length of this ride??? It's super fun, beautifully themed, and even has some thrills. It's a wonderful addition to NFL. The only thing that would make it better? Dwarf M&G right next to it somewhere =)

People in this forum seem convinced that a much longer, more elaborate version of the ride was going to be built and that Orlando management pulled the plug at the last second and insisted a cheaper version be built instead.

I have no knowledge one way or the other, though I've seen what people claim are authentic track layouts.

Linked post should give you an idea of where it started and where it finished...

Hence the reason for the luke warm reception some of us had to it.

I think it's okay. As a kiddie coaster, it's better than...Barnstormer, sure. But compared to SWA, where you were immersed in a nightmare for 3 relentless minutes, this is just a breezy ride thru and thru with no real intense moments. I think it had potential to be out of this world. Imagine a second indoor dark coaster section going thru the forest, with some images of the stalking witch. Basically, for me there's no drama. And seeing the witch at the last second doesn't make up for it.

One is a thrill ride for teens and adults, the other is a slightly less thrill ride for the family, including younger children. You really can't compare the two that way. They are not supposed to be on the same level. 7DMT is simply a fun ride that is themed very well in keeping with the animation. TOT is incredibly themed in a different way. Then again, your comment had nothing to do with themes.
Thanks for telling me a how to think.... But it really easy not fun... It's a snorefest
