Why doesn’t Animal Kingdom consider a nighttime drone show?

One drone is loud enough. The more you add, the louder it gets. Disney doesn't need any more noise pollution.

If giant LED panels for night safaris don't spook them...
Ever seen a dog react to a hot air balloon, a drone, or something similar in the sky? At best, it excites them, at worst, they find them terrifying.

LED panels also are stationary and provide a constant source of light. Moving drones would be a different story.

And the night time safari trucks with headlights and flashing cameras?

I'm guessing the noise was drowned out with loud music.
You guess wrong.

You had a chance to say, "Hey, that is a surprise to me, that's great!"

But you decided to double down on your unconfirmed presumption for which you obviously have no direct experience.

Good job.

Does a nightly show at AK = more $$ for Disney? If RoL didn't prove it, maybe they decided it's not worth the return on investment at this point?

That was the problem.
Quite accidentally, we managed to see those drones from 4 different vantage points…

1: inside park in front of Baseline tap house
2: from Dahlia’s lounge on tower
3: from HS parking lot as we arrived
4: finally inside Swge seeing the show attached to them.

only #4 looked pretty good. I’m guessing they were too big for extended flight?

anyway, I’m off topic.

I am very curious what options are being or have been discussed for AK nighttime show…..guess I’ll find out when one debuts 😁

Can you imagine the damage that drone might do if it lost connect/power and dropped into an enclosure? What if it dropped on an animal? I think drone shows are awesome but I don't think it would be a good idea at AK. Maybe incorporate them into the MK fireworks show? Strap Tink onto a large drone and fly her over. LOL

I tink AK is perfect for a drone show. They have the gandstands they but for RoL sitting there and a nighttime show is a better use for those seats ranger than a fatine show is an overheated area.

i think eventually they will replace the fire work shows. Between noise pollution and environmental issues (fireworks in the us equate to the co2 of 12000 cars every year)... plus the cost.. i think in the next 20 years you wont see fireworks at a disney park.

they have alot of land, they could have their presentation area over non populated areas... disneyland might be trickier.. but florida should be pretty easy

Drone show ANY park would be pretty cool to view.

I happened to be at Hollywood studios the week ROTR opened. For that first week they had two “big” drones decked out to look like X-wings…all they did was go straight up, then straight down, but part of a show in SWGE…they looked awesome!

should have kept those as well.
We've had flying dragons in the MK and X-wings in Star Wars Land...

I don't care if they only go up and down. I want them! And DAK drones!

I keep seeing photos of the drone show at Dollywood this summer and keep thinking how something like this could work at AK since they can’t/won’t do fireworks. They could redo some kind of light and water effects show with drones as well.

I just hope whatever they come up with one day has a better feel and finale than what they’ve tried before. So much potential but so little enjoyment with what they produced in the past. View attachment 571464View attachment 571466View attachment 571467View attachment 571468
Love this, thanks.

My main reservation is that drones still feel high tech, and DAK thrives on a natural feel. Not miniaturised robots, but fire, water, thunder!
