Why does it seem as if everyone hates Test Track?

In reality, they didn't really need to update it...only technology. That stuff we see in there won't happen for hundreds of years...Let's just hope that M:Space meets up to it, which is hard to do. :(

WOM lives still...

World of Motion was my Future World Fav. when I was young. There was just something unexplainably (Is that a word?) cool about boarding the vehicle inside and then swinging back outside, looking at all the people in line before heading back into the building.

I think what is at the essence of this "grumbling" Is that EPCOT has, in recent years, gone away from the 25 - 45 minute "experience" rides like Horizons and World of Motion to replace them with much shorter, albeit more thrilling, rides. The problem with that is the longer rides of old were mostly indigenous to EPCOT and I think for a lot of us that is what set EPCOT apart from every other theme park in the world. In those days, the goal was to make the experience the most enlightening and educational it could be, not the most thrilling. I'm sure that Disney is not totally behind this, as I would imagine a lot of it has been demanded by the corporate sponsors.

Still, the new rides are really cool. I just hope that in the installation of all these new, more thrilling rides they don't change the spirit of the park.

Test track is a great ride...I love it!
Keep in mind this thing is really high tech, and there are quite a few of these "test-cars". So if one has an issue...they have to shut the whole ride down and take the bad one out of roatation...this takes a little time.

As for people that say it will not last long...and that it may make one of Disney's "Hit list" to go Buh-bye... I dont see that happeing anytime soon... Why would the mouse house want to pull the plug on a Huge GM sponsored building/ride...aint gonna happen...unless GM itself pulls out from the deal...and I do not see that happening either...maybe in the next 5-10 years...but not now.

BTW: I have not been on TT since Sept....have they( GM) put the 2002-2003 lineup in the post show yet?... Like the 2003 CTS which I have as my avatar <---------- rumor is the CTS and 2004 XLR are supposed to be making there way for the TT Postshow. Anybody have pics of new Post Show Cars? Please and Thanks!

Its great but.......

Test Track is a great ride but I would not wait more than 20 minutes for it. I have never had it break down while in line or on the ride itself. I believe it being hyped up by other people brought my experience down a bit.

Hahaha...

You know, COUNTRY BEAR JAMBOREE and CAROUSEL OF PROGRESS got higher ratings than Test Track at www.eopinions.com. CBJ got a WHOPPING 100% satisfaction (higher than any other attraction besides Splash Mountain) and Test Track was in the mid-80s. CoP got an 89...

:D Just so ya know :D

It's not that we hate Test Track---we hate how it came about, the demise of World of Motion. Test Track unfortunately doesn't have the sense of future and connection that WoM had in Future World! WoM took us through the history and into the future just like Horizons, Spaceship Earth, Universe of Energy, etc. They were fantastic and educational atrractions all in one. Something that Walt enjoyed very much. Test Track can fit into EPCOT, but it should have been put in next to WoM! Just like Horizons should have stayed and Mission Space should have gone next to it. Disney needs to expand its park with an increasing US and global population and to keep increasing attendance. Disney's take one ride out and replace it with a new one just isn't enough nowadays. They need to keep the old and the new. Seems to fit in with the idea of future world if you ask me.

they didn't have a choice with Horizons...the building wasn't safe...that building needed to be demolished with or without a replacement.

I'm Surrounded by Idiots
I loved Test Track but it was always broken down and they allowed people to go on a car with a flat tire don't you think they should check these things because my last ride on Test Track was ruined because of the fact that we got a flat tire and our car didn't move.

I agree about the Horizons speculation! I wish that Disney would be more truthful when they decide to remove a spectacular ride instead of always coming up with a lame lie. At least we would only hate the decision to remove and not also the fact that they lied to us. :fork:

Did I miss something? Why would Disney "lie" about a building being unsafe? Isn't it Disney's right (or any business owner's) to decide to replace an attraction (or service) that is dropping in popularity with one that will generate more revenue? Isn't it far more expensive to demolish a building and rebuild a new one (with whatever attraction), than to use an existing building and just change the attraction inside? If it is more expensive, why demolish it if they didn't have to? You're making it sound like Disney is conspiring to do nothing but tick people off. I find it hard to believe they have have cast members assigned to the "tick off department"!

Test Track loses a lot of magic when you're trapped in one of those cars for nearly an hour. They gave us a fast pass thing that was good for the rest of the day....but they never got it running again.

It's better when it breaks down when you're in line and they just send you away until later.:hammer: :hammer: :hammer:
