Why can't you?

I notice that you can't book a trip longer than 10 nights online. I want to stay for 12 days 11 nights so do I have to make 2 reservations and does that mess anything up or is it fine? Can you book longer than 10 nights by calling or is it the same?

I have had that also. I had a client from England who stayed at the Poly for a total of 16 nights and I had to break it into 2 for the room only. They do add continuing reservation to the booking.

Reality or Myth?

If you book by phone for travel in 2006, you can book up to 30 nights on a Room Only Reservation, or up to 10 nights on a Magic Your Way Vacation Package. If you wish to stay beyond these limits, we can easily book what is know as a continuing reservation. You will need to technically check-out and back-in (basically just getting new room keys) and although the Resort cannot always guarantee it, they will make every effort to keep you in the same room.

OK, I heard a wierd take on the 30 day room reservation. It goes like this: on the 31st day you qualify as a Florida resident and would be eligible for Florida resident discount rates. That being the reason for breaking the room "rental" into a different reservation/rental contract.

No kidding, I talked to a guy in the AP line for the EE preview that goes to Disney ALOT as his son lives in southern Florida so he combines his Disney trips with visits to the grandkids.

Any truth to this? :veryconfu

I think they do that to ________ you off. No I am joking with you. I think they do it because they don't really have a lot of people stay there that long.

The last 4 times I've booked room only reservations, Disney has required that my stay be broken up into 2 reservations. (Booked the latest last month.) I will have to check in/out for the last 2 days of my trip. I was able to book AAA rate for 12 days, but then the AP rate came out and my reservations then needed to be split. Every time I do a survey for Disney, I complain about this. What should I say, or what number should I call in order to get my full stay on 1 reservation? This is the first time I've heard I could book up to 30 days on a room only reservation.

Thanks

The passholder discount offer (as are most discount offers) is limited to 10 nights. This is mostly due to system limitations. Guest who would like to stay longer then 10 nights may, but will need to book 2 separate reservations.

Basically, this is true. According to FL law, if you reside in the same residence for more then 30 days, you are a resident. As a result, you could legally apply for a Driver's license, Voter's ID card, and even have your mail forwarded to this new residence. As a result, no overnight lodging in FL will book a single reservation for more then 30 nights. You will always be required to book 2 (or more) reservations of no more then 30 nights each.

Fun Fact: Disney does have several Guests each year who like to enjoy extended stays at our Resorts and our Campground. I have booked Guests for a 2 1/2 month stay at Port Orleans and, a 80 night stay at the Beach Club Resort (in the Vice Presidental Suite no less!), and over 3 month stays at Fort Wilderness. Again, technically they were on multiple reservations, but was able to stay in the same room/site for the entire trip.

I overheard a couple talking about this. They were retired and basically travelled the country in their RV. They were commenting about in Florida that allot of the RV sites would make them pull up after the thirty days and move or re-register.

JPVonDrake - what's the longest onsite stays you've ever seen? I'm curious how long someone could stay at the world for. It must get monumentally expensive

We are full-time RVers. RVers often spend long amounts of time somewhere warm in the winter. These folks are called snowbirds. Anyway, the last time we stayed at FW there were people there who were staying for 6 months. Multilple reservations. You don't get a length of stay discount or anything either. They didn't tell us how much this was costing them, but I'm sure it was quite pricey.

As far as the longest on site stay I've seen. When we stayed at the BWV, there was a retired man there that we talked to & he said that he was staying there for 6 weeks. Now that's a vacation!:)

All the resort stays I mentioned in my little fun fact above are reservations I personally have booked for our Guests over the years. I have heard of stays as long as 8 months at Fort Wilderness, but the longest I personally booked there was around 3 1/2 months.

The 80 night stay at the Beach Club Vice Presidential Suite was one of the most expensive reservations I have ever booked.

Or you can just book for the Swan and Dolphin and make it as long as you'd like! (No need for separate reservations!) ;)

And the longest I've seen anyone at my hotel is only 25 days, and two of the three times were in either the Presidential or Vice-Presidential. (And they can cost up to $10,000 night/room...and they usually have multiple rooms!)

Were you booking a room only reservation forbidden donut? Because I still can't book a package online for longer than 10 days.
