Why are carnival rides disliked?

Why is it that carnival-type rides at any Disney park are always looked down on by the people here at this forum? Why is it these people think that such rides are (or should be) beneath Disney's standards and thus should never be done?

Blink, blink. Breathe, breathe. Day in, day out.
Because Disney should be over the top and carnival rides are just sooooo mainstream. -talk to the hand, snobby Disney forum geezer rolls eyes look. Walks away believing he proved a valuable point-

Probably because of carnivals. Where they're not well-made, not well themed, not well maintained, and not operated by those with an interest in safety. Just because they are, here, doesn't improve their image any.

Also because of old grudges over Paul Pressler's dismissive attitude toward the parks in the early 00's, which--although AK's Dinoland USA and DCA's A Bug's Land aren't bad now for what they are--were reportedly tossed off with his infamous comment of "If it's good enough for Six Flags, it's good enough for us."
(Not sure whether that was ever correctly attributed, but even as legend, it does sum up his "kiddy" dismissal of MK.)

Why are they panned by forum members? Take you pick from a myriad of reasons ranging from everything from a Disney hipster sense of superiority to the "I can ride that at home" excuse.

Why shouldn't they be panned? Because they are fun to a lot of people. Not everything needs to be a mind blowing AA heavy epic like Horizons. There is room in WDW for A-ticket carnival rides as well.

I only have two problems with these type rides.

1. Location, well really just Aladdin's it's awful.
2. Quantity, I don't see why they need 3, technically 4 of the same ride in one park.

With that being said, I enjoy them because kids love them, that is what disney is about right? My daughter begged every time we passed to ride them, if the line was short and or I was craving a snack I would let her go and take the time to see her face light up on the ride. She just went nuts on them. As an adult I don't see the fun because we all know the type of rides disney offers, but as a kid they don't have that mindset yet. To them they really are flying through Agrabah, or in a circus with dumbo, or flying a rocket ship high in the sky. Kids have a great imagination and I believe this factors in to why these rides are so popular to them. If my kids are enjoying them, I am to.

Besides stoping by the circus tent to grab some sweets or a dole whip by Aladdin's while they ride is great.

2 reasons...Their popularity is enough to support multiple attractions of the same type and they are inexpensive to build, run and maintain.

I am going to try and state this as nice as I can. A lot of people have already mentioned the price point of Disney compared to carnivals, so I will not go on about that but I 100% agree with their point. When you walk into Dinoland USA at AK it is like you entered a whole other park and left Disney property all together. The theming is atrocious and looks like it is right out of the local county fairs that get put on each year in each of our home towns. Then as if it was not enough to charge us $90 plus dollars to enter their park, now you want us to pay to play the carnival games inside your park. I find that to be ridiculous and a slap in the face. I love Disney and this is probably my biggest gripe with them and is why I am hopeful that Avatar will be beyond amazing and I am not an Avatar fan.
