Trip Report Whoa, Wait a Minute......Weren't You JUST There??!! *COMPLETED*

Hi, my name is Tuvalu and I am a Disneyholic.

(Go on, respond "Hi Tuvalu." I'll wait.)

My last trip to WDW was June 4-12, 2016. Before that May 3-8, 2016. Before that April 3-9, 2016. And my first trip of 2016 was February 18-22. If you are curious about those trip reports, they can be found here:

February ~ http://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/up-where-they-walk-up-where-they-run-19-3-miles.910930/ (Written by my DDD ~ Darling Disney Daughter :p)
April ~ http://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/go-with-the-flow-its-spring-break-you-know-completed.912354/
May ~ http://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/relaxin-on-the-rue-dbaga-completed.913182/

In the interest of full disclosure, I have three more trips planned for 2016 ~ July, October and December.

Can't. Stop. Going.

It is never my intention to be boastful about my vacation frequency. I am very aware of how fortunate I am. If not for the good friends I have made on this site, I would not be posting trip reports at all. So a big thank you to all who have encouraged and supported me. Your kindness means a lot.

Now, on with our most recent adventure!

The deets:
Cast ~ Tuvalu, Woody and Em
Date ~ June 4-12, 2016
Resorts ~ Port Orleans French Quarter & Polynesian Village

Did we have fun? You betcha! Even Tropical Storm Colin couldn't dampen our joy :D.

Stay tuned....

Saturday, June 4

"Sometimes you wanna go...where everybody knows your name...and they're always glad you came." You may recognize these words from one of TV's best classic sitcoms, Cheers. (For any Millennial reading this, the series is available on Netflix...try it!) Anyone who has a favorite establishment, be it a bar, restaurant or store, knows the joy of being recognized and welcomed by the other regulars who are there. It becomes your motivation to keep going back again and again.

I'm not talking about WDW. :jawdrop: (Although there may be a server or two at The Plaza, Liberty Tree Tavern and Trail's End who have recognized us but don't know our names!)

Our family (me, Woody, Em and middle son Drumr) are Saturday morning regulars at the Dwarf House, a table service ChickFilA. We are friends with all the servers who remember our beverage and food order and are thoughtful in many ways. Case in point: this past Saturday was my and Woody's wedding anniversary. This was brought to our table (with a song, no less!)

It's a ChickFilA cow!!!! (Those of you familiar with CFA will get the humor in the sign.)

Anyhoo, since our flight to Orlando wasn't until 1 p.m. we had plenty of time to stop at Dwarf House for our usual breakfast. And then Drumr drove us to the airport.

(Sidebar ~ Drumr loves Disney as much as the rest of us. His work schedule does not afford him the ability to go to the world often. His last visit was in September. You can read about it here:
http://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/no-bug-movie-promise-live-tr-completed.905364/ )

Our flight was uneventful and we disembarked the plane at 2:15 p.m. The DME area was mobbed!! We had to wait a half hour in line before boarding our bus. Em was on the brink of losing her sanity listening to the beatbox on the video screens over and over and over. :banghead:

At last we were allowed on a bus and as soon as I sat down my phone buzzed with our "your room is ready" text. POFQ has never failed me with the room text (Poly on the other hand...) I was super excited to see that after many POFQ stays, we were finally given a room in Building 4 ~ the only building we had yet to stay in!

At 4 p.m. our bus pulled into the resort.

We made it!

We went to our room to drop off our carry-ons. Since we hadn't eaten since breakfast (unless you count the tiny bag of Southwest peanuts), we headed to the food court for a snack.

Cookies and Cokes are healthy, right??

Up next ~ dinner with friends at Disney Springs

Yay for new building!

You described my usual DME experience. The one time there was no line and I was on the bus in 5 minutes, the bus sat there for 25 more minutes before closing up and hitting the road. That's why, unless I'm traveling solo, I get a rental car. :)

Love the CFA Cow! We have a friend who works at the corporate office in Red Oak and a few years before Mr. Cathy died, she took us on a personal tour. We got to go up to Truett's Treehouse and meet him. Very nice, humble man. The offices were full of Remington bronzes, and there was a Batmobile in the lobby. Way cool. Got to visit the test kitchen too.
Looking forward to this trip report...it has been such a long time since your last one. :joyfull:

Love Chick-Fil-A! The sign on the cow is perfect.
Sorry you had such a long wait for the DME. Happy that you are in a new building. POFQ looks so nice. I'd like to stay there some day. My BIL, SIL and niece will be staying there for a week in August. Looking forward to hearing what they think.
All ready to hear more about your trip!

As I mentioned earlier in your TR --
Hi Tuvalu!! :D I don't think you go enough -- I think you need to plan more trips. :p

To which you responded:

I think you're right! Wait....doesn't that make you an enabler??!! :joyfull:

Guilty as charged. :D Yes, I'm an enabler, and I'm contributing to your wayward spiral into 24/7 Fantasy Land. Let's face it--we're all just a bunch of broken (Disney) toys around here, and we live to bolster each others Disney habit ! :joyfull:

We usually have better luck with DME. I actually would have preferred waiting while seated in a bus to waiting in line at the terminal. I know Em would have!!

Very cool! Woody met Truett years ago while chaperoning a youth retreat at Berry College. If you said, "I love CFA" to Truett, he handed you a coupon for a free sandwich. The kids loved that!

POFQ is my favorite moderate. I'm sure your BIL, SIL and niece will have a great time!

We usually just go once a year but my mom got sick and passed away shortly after we returned from our April trip. My husband said a trip "home" would give me something happy to look forward to. So, December here we come! My name is Megan and I'm a Disneyholic!!

Hi Megan! :D
Please accept my deepest sympathy on the loss of your mom. I hope your pre-Christmas trip to the world will make your holiday a little brighter.
