OK, all my life, I have almost always made it a point to flip past food programs, finding them incredibly boring--so I still find it a little odd that I actually watch this channel as much as I do. But what can I say?
I absolutely love "Unwrapped" and "Top 5." These are the two shows that got me started on Food Net--they both trace the history of food fads and how food has affected our culture, and are every bit as interesting as any documentary on A&E or the History Channel. "Unwrapped" is hosted by Marc Summers, formerly of the "Double Dare" gameshow.
And lately, I've also become quite fond of two of the channel's food preparation programs, namely "Good Eats" with Alton Brown and "Emeril Live!" with you-know-who. "Good Eats" is snappy, expertly edited (no live filming), sarcastic, and Alton Brown is a terrific host. This guy makes quiches interesting. As for Emeril, well, he's very energetic and I could see where some people would get annoyed by him, but I'm absolutely mesmerized whenever I watch him do his thing.
So...anybody else here watch this stuff? I'm kinda hungry...
