Hey guys all your ideas sound amazing! But I want to know which is better...the MNSSHP or The pirate and princess party. Anyone been to both?

I'm going.....But not until next year... However the past 2 times I've gone I enjoy bringing the side of Anime/Cosplay along. In 2004 I was the Great Sayainman from Dragonball Z and in 2005 I was Link from the Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time...For 2008 I'm going to two parties (when they announce the dates for next year) As Edward Elric and the second is a State Alcemist both from the Anime Fullmetal Alchemist

Yes. I am fortunate enough this year to be going to all 3 parties (MNSSHP, P&P and MVMCP). I think I like MNSSHP the best but just barley more than P&P.

We'll be at MNSSHP on October 5th. We are still debating about whether or not we should dress up, besides...i'm scary enough already without wearing a costume.

Does Disney have any guidelines and/or limitations on how adults can dress up during MNSSHP? I have heard conflicting opinions on this.

We'll just miss you, we will be there on the 8th.

I think Disney does have some guidelines, especially for adult. I don't think that you can wear a mask or have anything that can be potentially used as a weapon (<- duh, right?). Not sure about this, but I think that if an adult looks too much like a character they may ask them to alter their appearance a bit. I dunno if this is true tho, because why would they sell adult costumes if they didn't want people to wear them? (Don't crucify me for that last sentence I know that "Disney" doesn't make all the adult costumes).

Anyhoo, have fun. We will probably just wear MNSSHP t shirts again, but our DD will either be Jack Sparrow (she loves him-just like her mommy!), and for the little guy we're not sure yet. He'll be 15 months and I just don't know yet. Maybe Stitch? Or he can be his sister's little Henchman if she's Capt'n Jack.

I am going September 28th and can't wait to go again!!! I love that party more than the others!!!! the parade and fireworks are awesome, more so than any other one. Last year we all wore different jerseys from the New York teams. Mets, Jets and Islanders! This year more of the same!

We're going 10/04. Our tickets came in the mail this past week:) I'm not sure if I'll dress up or not. I'm thinking of getting the Sally t-shirt on Disney Shopping and wearing that. My son is going to be Capt. Jack Sparrow and my daughter is going to be Elizabeth in the pirate garb. They haven't realized yet that they are going to "match" LOL

We're going Oct. 28! :sohappy: Bought my tickets last week and am anxiously waiting to get them in the mail :D

Yeah, we're dressing up. DD will be the Little Mermaid (her obsession). As for hubby and I, not sure yet. Trying to talk him into donning a pair of green tights  and going as Peter Pan

Ha...we're going the 28th too, and my wife wants our family to do something similar...me as peter pan, her as wendy, and our daughter as tinkerbell. It would be cute. I'm finding it hard to find both a decent peter pan and wendy adult costume though.

I'll be at the Halloween party on Sunday, Oct. 21. It will be my first not so scary Halloween party experience.

In fact, this will be my first trip to WDW in 14 years, and I'm down at the world for a week. Should be an awesome experience.

As for dressing up, I don't know. I have a National Basketball Association referee jersey that I might wear, along with a whistle, but not sure. I also have an orange glow-in-the-dark skeleton shirt that says "Scared to Death."

So, it's a toss up, but I'll be there on October 21.

Never been before, but really looking forward to it along with my 4yr old and DH. we are hoping to get lots of candy and pictures of the charachers. Also I heard that you can arrive a little before 7pm. Any one know, or have any tips?

We went last year and arrived about 5pm, got in using our mnsshp tickets and they did have candy bags out ready, if you go earlier you may have to find the candy bags when they come out. No candy is given out untill 7pm ish but its good to get there in daylight and hit some rides then at 7 you can do some dance parties and start collecting candy. 1st parade is about 8;15 then hallowishes fireworks at 9;30 with the parade again on at 10;30. Tip, get your viewing spot early!!
We will be there again this year Oct 4h, DH dressign up as witch, she is 3 and last year minnie had a purple witch dress on just like hers, she thought that was great!

What are the dance parties like? My son wants to be Buzz but I'm afraid he will get to hot in that costume. We are staying in Disney for 11 days so should we plan on not doing any rides for that night and just do all the special activites. Do they do things different at the rides? Do they have trick-or-treating at the rides and are the lines long?

I'm so excited!! I'm going Oct. 16, and I'll be Alice (in Wonderland)...a friend of mine is making the costume, and so far it's amazing!

Look for me, I'd love to meet any and all of you! :sohappy:

We'll be there on Friday, September 28th. My daughter is dressing up as KP (Kim Possible) and I am going as Ron Stoppable. The wife doesn't dress up---says that I embarrass her (jokingly she says that........I think!!). :veryconfu :ROFLOL:

You can get in as early as 4:00 PM with a MSSSHP ticket.

Trick or treating is done all over the park (not at the attractions) and the locations will be marked on your park map. Lines for everything are typically short. You will have time for rides but with the exception of HM I would make them secondary to the other activities. You will definitely want to see the parade and the fireworks. The rides are all the same with a minor exception at HM. There is a CM playing a happy haunt just outside the mansion and she is an absolute hoot.

If you, your wife or a good friend have any sewing skills there are quite a few patterns out there that will produce a very good costume. If not e-bay can be your friend as there are quite a few people that make costumes. If you order off of e-bay do it early and make your due date about 2 weeks before you actually need it to avoid any problems.

Here is an e-bay auction for a custom Wendy dress.

Last year they had 2 dance parties: Stiches cosmic dance party at Cosmic Rays Starlight Cafe in Tomorrowland and Get up and boo-die dance party at Ariels Grotto in Fantasyland. They also had Villain's Mix & Mingle, this is a show on about 4 times over the night and at the end you can meet the villain's. Around the park there are special Disney Character appearances from disney friends old and some never seen before. Not all the rides are open, see the report on allears.net web site. You shold be able to do a few, the HM will have special affects but the others are just the same. Alot of people are dressd up, if your not going untill sun has gone down your DS should be ok, if your going whilst the sun is still out, you may want to take the costume and get changed when its cooler. As for the lines, they are ok, even potc was only 20 min max when we rode.
