To be fair Voldy really wasn't in HBPa whole heck of a lot.

Well....he's in it more than the other books, except for DH...if you consider the Tom Riddle memories as Voldemort. There also should have been a scene with an almost-transformed Voldemort in Dumbledore's office, but I digress.

I figured but I felt they should have included him to get that feeling of leading up to the final story. It will be odd to just have him appear in the next film like nothing happened.

In the 6th book he was not even really in it, only in memories. There was no current appearances of him, only in the pensive.

That being said, you saw a ton more of him in the book in the pensive. I really wish there was more of that in the movie.

Agreed. Fortunately Deathly Hallows will be 2 films. They will probably capture about 90% of the book as opposed to only 60% here.

Well, I went Friday with my 8 year old and really did enjoy it. She said she loved it but during the movie kept asking me what was going on. My wife did not get to go so will go again with her I hope. I want her reaction as she did not read the book and want to see if she can follow along. I wonder if I was able to only because I read the book.

I am also upset not with just this movie but steadily some of the, not what you would call main characters, but extremely important ones are only showing in cameo experiences if at all. The Weasleys, Lupin, Tonks, McGonigal (I can not believe how much she has aged), ett. I with they were in it more.

I agree, it should have been 2 movies as a lot was left out.

All that being said, I did really enjoy it even if it does not sound like it. I pretty much liked all that I saw, I just wish there was more to be seen...

-Was too little of the trips into the pensive. I was looking forward to seeing the Dark Lord's family.
-The lack of a battle of Hogwarts was upsetting.
-No Dobby still. I doubt he will be in it ever again which I don't understand. -He is CGI, no actors pay...
-The whole Half Blood Prince story in the book is almost completely left out. -It was almost not even part of the movie.
-I doubt anybody who did not read the book had a clue what the heck Harry shoved down Ron's throat when poisoned.

Regarding that last one, they have been referenced in the movies before a couple of times. Actually, it's one of the things that Snape asks Harry about in the first Potions Class. As for the pay for Dobby, he still has a voice actor and yes, they do get paid. Not as much as ones appearing onscreen, but they make a decent living.

Otherwise, I do agree. Just saw the movie today and really think they could have kept some things in. It might have made the movie a little longer, but at 2 1/2 hours, you might as well add another 10 minutes to explain some stuff. Or at least have the sounds of battle between the Death Eaters and the Order/D.A. in the background of the Astronomy Tower confrontation. Overall, though, I did enjoy the movie.

Slughorn was also teaching about Bezoars in the scene where Harry walks into the dungeon and the girl forgets her rat tail. It's something I caught the second time I saw it.

The movie is much better the second time IMO because you're prepared for what isn't there or what was changed. It's easier to swallow and you actually start to understand. Definitely my favorite Potter flick.

I really liked it. I took my family and my dad said it was his favorite one. I liked how it was centered around the people and relationships. The Tom Riddles were great. Slughorn was okay for me. But the ending was lame. No fight? The Death Eaters just waltzed out like it was nothing! Lame. Dumbledore's death was also meh. I really wanted to see Dumbledore's funeral, but apparently they're including it in the begining of 7(part numero uno)? And I don't get why they burned down the Weasley's house. Wasn't that protected?

Those issues aside, I did like it. I want to see it again to catch all the little details that I missed the first time. Also, I really liked lucky Harry.

Actually, I agree. I just saw the movie the second time. Just got home in fact. I enjoyed it a LOT more this second time b/c I was more prepared for what wasn't there and didn't compare it to the book nearly as much. I took it more for what it was, moviewise. I think that's the key to enjoying this (and the other) movies...even though I've been very suseptable to fall into the comparing it to the book category multiple times. It was definitely a better movie the second time around. (Although I STILL would have liked to see more of the memories...The memories are so key to me for this book's importance and the fact that some were missing bothers me greatly. The fight scene didn't bother me NEARLY as much this time as it did the first time. Also, the Astronomy Tower scene made MUCH more sense this time, knowing what was going to happen exactly than it did when I first saw it.)

OK, finally saw it. Out of 5 stars, I rate it 2.5

~ It lingered between the line of fascination and boredom.
~ Most of the scenes were rushed.
~ The explaining for the Horcruxes & the Half Blood Prince were but marginal.
~ More focused on the trio & Draco and not everyone else.
~ At least we know how Lavender acts.
~ Went off track every now and then.
~ Most exciting scene was in that cave
~ Very anti-climatic ending.
~ A LOAD of edits from the book.

Overall, could've been better. OftP was better.

While I will also admit it was the funniest one so far, am I the only one who is wondering why they gave it to a freshman film student to edit? The transitions and segues between scenes just about drove me nuts. Somebody either didn't know how to use the splicer and a LOT of stuff ended up on the cutting room floor or they just didn't film enough to move from scene to scene.

Yes, it was entertaining but it was the most poorly craft film (from a technical standpoint) of the lot so far.

I saw it three times with the 3rd being IMAX and the first 12 minutes in amazing 3D and loved it each time!!! Sure some was left out but what's expected and it is pretty funny with great music (to me, even though it's not Michael Giacchino).

Not trying to be harsh but hey us younger folk don't notice that much sequence change and stuff. We are looking for comedy and action which is what we got at parts. I do agree that the ending was left out but hey to me it was good.

I noticed that as well. I think it was trying to bill itself as a comedy of sorts. :lookaroun

I think the splicing were due to perhaps so much stuff removed from the film.

Something tells me there will be MANY deleted scenes in the DVD...
