Who else is thinking about waiting until 2020 or so to go back to the World?

You gonna wait until all of the construction is finished?

Planning on Spring 2020 - but maybe the better play is to go this year pre-GE on a discount to get my fix and then wait until 2021 to see Star Wars. Yea ... no, who am I kidding? I won't be waiting that long to see it.

We usually go twice a year, and we already have the April 2019 trip booked.....and were planning on 2 weeks in December.

We booked for 2019 the moment it became available. We're choosing December since we're hoping any delays will by that point be worked out. And we'll be flying down to Disneyland for Opening Day if we can at all manage it. I can't even imagine not being there.

We just got back and based on the time we had... I can wait. We had a good time. The crowds were actually light. The one thing that really spoiled it for us was the bus service. It has always been good for us in the past but this trip it was really bad. To the point that we skipped night shows because the trip back because of the bus' long lines irritated us so much it became a bad experience.

Which parks did you guys go to? We were there from the 14th-23rd and I didn't see light crowds.

Just a short poll to see who is thinking about waiting until everything is completed at the World to go back.

Me personally, I am actually thinking about holding off for a couple of years to go back because:

1) Construction is great and all and means Disney is building new things, but....

2) Construction is everywhere and takes away from seeing the World.

Crazy, right? Not sure if I can hold off, but I am seriously considering it.

We just returned from out trip & have decided to wait till 2020 for our next trip.. Thinking early in the year before the heat & busy season..

We don't care about construction, and would gladly face it if we were going back any time soon (I wish!). But, we are planning a trip for the 50th Anniversary for sometime in 2021.

I always love being at WDW, but as it gets more and more expensive and more of a hassle in general with needing FastPasses ect... I'm going to start waiting til there's something new to see, or try and hit events like Halloween and Christmas parties and Epcot Festivals

Just went for a a short visit from 10/7 to 10/13 and just was in the parks for 3 days, Had a great time but opposed to when I went in '16 and '14, I'm pretty set for now on my Disney World addiction - Now things of course could change but I think I'd okay with not going back til '21 or '22

Going as much as I can, before Star Wars opens. Taking a tiny 6 month or so break, after September 2019. Although I doubt it will matter- crowd wise. To be honest I am so sick of Star Wars, I have no immediate desire to see it anyway. Epcot rides, looking way forward to, Tron, going to be so cool, I have major who cares Star Wars attitude though, got into it, with the first new movie coming out, the last 3 were not that great at all. Even my hubby, diehard boy raised on Star Wars, has lost interest.

I'd advocate that people should probably wait until at least 2025. Possibly - 2026 may suffice. Yes, I think everyone should abstain from Disney until at least 2026. Spread the word, mention it to your friends, coworkers, neighbors.

Specifically - do not go Thanksgiving weekend, Christmas Day week or in early February or late March of 2019. I'll have more dates we can boycott shortly.

23rd thru 28th. 15 minute waits for a lot of the rides. 15 minute waits all day for Soarin. Never saw more than 30 for ToT. Got to go on FoP 4 times. Two times at rope drop (2 different days) and were walk ons. 2 times using FP. Never had to wait at all. Walked onto Kilimanjaro Safari mid afternoon. Dinosaur was a walk on once and then maybe a 10 minute wait the 2nd time we rode it. HM was maybe a 10 minute wait (a little disappointed because we didn't get to play in the queue). Yes the crowds were light.

We go *only* every 2 or 3 years anyway. We were there in June, so our next trip won't be until 2021, for the 50th anniversary and hopefully crowds for all the new stuff will have died down some. I am really excited about the new stuff!!

I read what you are typing, but around me, there are so many people who never had any interest in WDW before, and now they want planning tips because they want to go for Star Wars. It seems to be very popular with non Disney geeks.

My brother is a perfect example of that. He HATES Disney and mocks my love for it. He and my nephew love Star Wars and I actually heard him say it's inevitable that he'll "have to" go now.

They're probably MCU fans, too. Yet another reason to go...

I think it will be 2021 or 2022 for me. I want to wait for the SWGE crowds to die down a bit, but also those for Ratatouille, MMRR, and (maybe) Tron. I want to experience a new country in Epcot next time I visit too, and check out whatever new shows are added.

Same goes for Universal- I’m waiting for the new Potter coaster, and whatever else is added to the parks. I want to spend two days there next trip, instead of cramming things into one.

“Not sure if I can hold off, but I am seriously considering it.”

I hear ya!

My youngest is now 17 & we had gone every year since she turned 5.

This year (Senior year) she is supposed to go with her Brigade (dance) group from school.

Don’t know if it’s her multiple visits (I may have ruined it for her!!) or what, but she is reconsidering and may not go after all.

So this has put a wrench in our annual tradition. I could have joined as a chaperone, but wanted to let her do her own thing.

A friend even wanted to join if it had just been us.

So sadly, as it stands, we may not go at all, any of us.

I am afraid by breaking our streak, I am not sure when I’ll go ever again.

The construction hadn’t stopped me. Disney are pretty good at keeping things functioning despite construction.

Am I confused by Star Wars and Guardians of the Galaxy?? Yes. doesn’t quite fit IMO.

I’ve visited Pandora. Had not watched Avatar, so made a point to do so. FOP made me queezy, but still, the new land is awesome.

Just seems like a lot going on right now.

Maybe you are right about letting it all settle first.

Here’s hoping I get to see Mickey again!!!!!!

I miss him already.

Just renewed our APs in Sept, after an Aug visit, and have reservations already for Jan and Mar. We are never in a hurry to see a new ride. Despite visiting several times in recent years, we just rode FoP (absolutely loved it!) for the first time last month, and I think it was nearly 2 years before we got on Frozen (you, Frozen, are no Maelstrom!). Construction doesn't interfere with our visits, at all, however the crowds did.
But, I can certainly understand why some might rather wait.
