Who else is thinking about waiting until 2020 or so to go back to the World?

You gonna wait until all of the construction is finished?

I've gone 3 years in a row, but will stay away in 2019. (mostly to prove to my Wife that it's possible for me)
That said, I'm already starting to plan a September visit in 2020, and partially planning a 2021 visit for WDW's 50th.

I'm lucky to live 95 miles from Disneyland, so you can be sure there'll be many Anaheim nights for me in the meantime.

However if SWGE is open next September, I may consider skipping The Studios if it's absolute chaos and spend time at the other three Disney parks and Universal instead

The crowds that SWGE will bring will definitely spill over to all the other parks. I have a feeling that all parks will see a mass uptick of people.

We intend to go next June before SW area opens then take a few years break, hope the initial crowd stabilizes a bit. DD10 will hit 54" by next summer so fill in the years with hitting coaster oriented parks. I've been waiting longer to visit Cedar Point than Disney lol.

We've been going every year, but we were supposed to skip this year, went Dec. 2017 and then would go Dec. 2019. By Feb. this year, my family was giving me puppy dog eyes about Dec. 2018 - and next thing I know I'm booked. They talked me into it with whispers of how much more it was going to be when Star Wars opens, we need to take advantage of the lower prices now before they skyrocket, blah, blah. The boys had my DH freaking, and he can't even go this year because of work (It happens, sometimes). DH was convinced we would be missing a huge opportunity if we didn't go this year, and skipping a different year makes more sense. Ooookaaay. You talked me into it! I would be a fool NOT to go this December! Now we'll see what happens next year.....

I tend to avoid grand openings of parks since I saw the fiasco that was Avatar via YouTube on opening day. Terrifying!

We were in AK on opening day of Pandora and it was pretty neat to be there. We didn't try to get into Pandora, but it was fun to see the crowds and excitement. It differed from a regular crowds in that everyone knew what they were getting into and was pretty excited about it.

Well all, I have a confession to make.

I was going to hold off for a year or two going back not only because of construction but also chaotic crowds and costs, but after seeing what is happening (or what is possibly to come) for the Muppet Vision 3D as well as Hoop-Dee-Doo, DH and I might be making an impromptu trip down.

:grumpy:

Well, it's been 2 years since our last visit (and it's KILLING me), but I can (have to) wait - DW's job now coincides with school breaks, so there is no way I'm heading into that mess at the World.

Next is looking like 2021, for the 50th - already told her THAT is happening, so she can work around it - 2+ years notice should be enough, right?

I think a lot of assumptions are being made concerning what the crowd levels will look like once SW:GE opens. All of these assumptions are pretty polarized to the top of the range of outcomes and seem to have removed all factors outside of pure demand/desire. Should be interesting to see what happens.

We've been going the 1st week of Nov every yr for the past 6 yrs. After this trip we Probably wont go back till 2021, were gonna wait for alot of the construction to be complete. OR, we could just to Disney land in California for a few trips.

I won't have a free week to go until 2021

But, if I did, I would still prolly go. I enjoy it enough that it doesn't really get stale. And, like others above, I'm a bit worried about crowds once SW:GE opens. Also, not a huge fan of Star Wars so that'll be interesting as well. I should really give it a shot once more before it opens..

I read what you are typing, but around me, there are so many people who never had any interest in WDW before, and now they want planning tips because they want to go for Star Wars. It seems to be very popular with non Disney geeks.
