As you read this in real time, our friend Barnum42 is home alone on a Friday night, deprived of the company of his lady companion, possibly due to the sinister acts of a woman scorned. Who is the most likely suspect? Your vote could help to solve this case. First, hear Barnum's own description of what happened:

Been a busy week. Relationship is going great. Unfortunately she took a bit of a tumble yesterday and was a little shaken up a bruised. She just wants to spend the weekend in bed asleep and is not up to receiving visitors, so I'm not going over tonight.

The Suspects:

This mysterious lady behind the sunglasses will go after what she wants and doesn't mind who knows it. Forum member Merhearted cannot leave his shells unguarded from this lady who lives in Crazy Cat Lady Land. Could she be plotting a defense of temporary insanity?

This South Florida resident has been known to covet Barnum's fluffy towelings. She admits her ambition to one day be an . . . ENGLISH teacher. This "accident" occurred in the UK!

This suspect is known to be a master of disguise, donning whatever costuming is necessary to carry out her intentions of the moment. She has even admitted to having once been the tallest penguin ever. . . maybe. A fan of Barnum's back rubs, she may look innocent, (or does she look innocent?)

This hoosier has recently been seen posting for information on whether giraffes are allowed to book passage on commercial air flights. Innocent trip to WDW, or return from Atlantic flight? You decide.

Kirsten. After seeing having to restrain her from Aladdin a year ago, I could hardly imagine a woman that stands a chance near her. Plus, isn't Barnum Bristolese for Aladdin? :zipit:

Against you. . . or FOR you? ;) I am not at liberty to say. I would not want to influence the investigation one way or the other. Besides, if you ARE the guilty party, giving out that type of information could put another innocent victim at risk.

And yes, the chief inspector can certainly be bought off. How do you think Mad escaped the inquiry? **yummy apple pie.** :slurp:

I have no idea what the story behind this is . . .

. . . but it's still one of the funniest things I've ever read.

*A secret phone conversation*

Hello....Animal Kingdom...Do you need any more giraffes for your exhibit? It seems I need a place to lay low for awhile. I am being unjustly accused of a crime I did not commit. Can you help me? I can be on a flight to Orlando as soon as this weekend. Keep it hush hush OK?

P.S. If a Tiger is inquiring about me.....don't mention our conversation!

*Giraffe runs and camouflages herself behind some big trees*

I'm scared!

All right, who voted against me?! :fork:

Sorry Rox, I voted for you :lookaroun
Very nice usage of ENGLISH, Regina, or should I say, SUSPECT #3. You've been quite ill this week, haven't you? Runny nose, scratchy throat. Nothing suspicous about that, except your symptoms are consistent with those exhibited by a person suffering exposure to a rare plant indigenous to Wales, the Sword Leaved Helleborine.

A little info from "plantlife.org.uk/html/wales/wales_index.htm:" Sword-leaved Helleborine (Cephalanthera longifolia)
This stunning orchid grows in open, rocky woodland. In Wales it has been lost from eight of its 14 sites - an astonishing decline of 57%. Some plants have been collected from the wild and others lost through poor woodland management.

Hmmm. English language, Welsh hay-fever and. . . in training for a fight - "supposedly" with speck76.

Regina, for the record, I don't really think you did it.

I really think Mad did it, but she wasn't given as a choice. Durn.
