Agreed. The studios need the most help IMO.
Help = What?
Ah, the generalities of uncertainty. If you don't like something "It's a mess that needs help.", but by goodness NEVER get any more specific.

More 1930's. More Hollywood, less random entertainment. More "making of" rides/shows/things. Less Hat. More NIGHTLY pyro, and in a central location. More Muppets. More Indiana Jones. More NON Disney things. More UNIQUE Disney creations. More Space.Help = What?

Hollywood of NOW is...Back then? Hope. That's the Hollywood that never was, and always will be. That's what I want in there, at least.I can't face palm enough over this, figuring Hollywood IS random entertainment.
Sigh...you edumacated kids will never get show business at all...
Studios does need to be sponsored with Turner Classic Movies...that'd be neat. Robert Osbourne could shoot some movie intros in front of GMR.
Anyways, Studios doesn't need a DCA overhaul because it has no problems...It's already placemade. It has tons of E-Tickets, Loads of shows, a major nightime spectacular, and loads upon loads of details, all of which were the point of the DCA rehab.
And the funny part? Studios will still have more vintage-themed area than DCA will, since Echo Lake, GMR to park entrance, and Sunset Blvd. is way more acreage than Sunshine Plaza...
And if someone can explain to me how you'd fit Star Tours or any modern entertainment (The whole point of Studios) in a park all themed to the 1930's. DCA knows this, that's why they're only using the 1930's in the entrance, just like us.
:hammer:
This thread's nuts...and nuts ta this! See ya's in Chuych.

I can't believe you think the place has no problems...How is that even possible? Everything has the opertunity to be better, as Walt said.
To fit Star Tours, you need to have defined lands. Something that I think DHS lacks. Pixar Place and the Backlot are the exceptions, of course...but how some things fit is beyond me.
Would you mind saying what the main theme of each is, then? I honestly don't know.Everything has the opportunity to be better doesn't start with calling what's there a mess.
"How could this be better?"
Vs.
"What a dump! MAKES NO SENSE -5 STARS."
Anyone who doesn't get Studios-Don't get the Studios feel
Studios Costuming Guidelines even state that you should walk on stage, because Studios is supposed to feel alive and busy, like sets and soundstages in between filming.
And the park is already as separated as it should be. Hollywood Blvd, Sunset Blvd. Echo Lake, Streets of America, Commissary Lane, Backlot, Pixar Place, Animation Courtyard.
Just because they don't say LAND after it doesn't make it a mess.
Would you mind saying what the main theme of each is, then? I honestly don't know.
Honestly...If that's how it is, then it IS a mess. That's not adhering to a continuity at all.:shrug:Like I said, a Studio isn't split up into "WesternMoviesareshothereland" or "1930's world" or (The worst idea ever) "LucasLand"
It's split up into streets and districts. The big standing set areas are Hollywood, Sunset, and Streets of America. Animation Courtyard and Pixar Place are where the Animation Buildings are located on the lot.
You theme a studio park after that feel of standing sets, soundstages, specialty buildings like lighting and sound, commissary, etc. Actors, Movie Productions, and divisions aren't split up. They're all over the Studios at one time.
I blame the fact that by nature I'm keen on film making...And told you all I was just going for some popcorn!
Honestly...If that's how it is, then it IS a mess. That's not adhering to a continuity at all.
Honestly, I think you are the only one that gets this.:brick::lol: Or you are making it up as you go along for the Studios, because I've never seen it described like that in park and WDI media.:shrug:Let's state it this way, My halloween avatar a mess?
I'm going to presume that you put witch outfit and haunted house together to form Halloween. Makes sense.
Now in literal fact, one is a Disneyland Attraction and the other is a fan drawing of a character in a TV show, that didn't even have a Halloween episode. So neither of them really work alone, but you put the two together under the Halloween name, it works. Witches, Ghosts, Zombies, Aliens. All random. In fact, none of them have anything to do with each other. Put them all together though, you get spooky. They all work together.
The continuty of Studios is that it's a STUDIO. As I said, look at a real studio. The trailer for Iron Man actors are right behind the set for Something Wicked This Way Comes. Meanwhile they're setting up a set for Terminator ten, and in the soundstage next too it they're filming Pirates of the Caribbean. A guy muddles away on a Western Picture in the sound building while the Animation department is bringing in the dailes for a Pixar picture. NOTHING is separated into genrelands.
THAT's what a Studio is like.
THAT's what Studios is like.
It's adhered to that since 1989.
And you are aboard the spaceship Nostromo...something has gone terribly wrong. One by one the crew has been vanishing, by a creature waiting to claim it's next victim...
Look pal, I ain't no victim!

EpcotServo, I admire your passion for the Studios and I enjoy reading your posts about the backstory/details on each land. But.. if this poll is any indication, it's that something needs to happen in DHS. I don't know what to be honest - just something to refresh the park a bit. Maybe update a few of the shows (especially F!), add a new original parade, maybe a water ride? It's missing a good water ride.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!Much of what you talk about EPCOT isn't written in a guidebook. Last time I checked the map for EPCOT doesn't explain what Future World or World Showcase has to do with each other. Nor Kingdom and Fantasy Tomorrow and Adventureland. The Park speaks for itself.
This is the stuff taught to Cast Members hired for Studios. You can ask any Imagineer and they'll tell you that Studios wasn't designed with utlidoors BECAUSE they wanted to mix cast members walking around, because the park is supposed to be like a studio.
THAT'S WHY THE NAME HAS ALWAYS INCLUDED STUDIOS
And there's about at least a hundred Cast Members who get it- They're out there keeping "the mess" running for you people.
Well if this thread's any indication, nobody's been able to throw me back a Great Movie Ride quote, meaning everyone should probably stop applying the useless tactic of supporting an arcane archetype of a Park Specific rehab to a park that isn't the park in question and actually spend some time in Studios...
Seriously, Studios is just like Epcot, Magic Kingdom, and Animal Kingdom. Full of problems, troubles, outdated rides, passable shows and underutilized areas.
The passion I'm being admired for is talking about what is there, not what isn't.
I'd say the glass is half full, but I think for this forum-including my self, the glass has long shattered and the sand blown away. We're all just going through the motions now because it's the last thing we can do- Disney fans have always been sitting on the Jungle Cruise boat of life, because even the corny old joke about which park needs work is much, much more fun than anything "out there" in the real word. So take solace in the fact that we're still on that boat, doomed to stay together as we float past the same old gags for the next 50 years. It's why I admire this forum so much, because even so, even after all these Mobius Strip events, the forum is still generally in the same boat. So the next time you find yourself in a deserted corner of Hollywood Studios, you better make sure you know just what kind of theme your complaining about...or you may just end up a permanent detail...in The Twilight Zone.
lol: Ha ha! Foooledd youuuuu!)
Anyways, serious, Serious. I wasn't kidding when I said Studios has the same problems of any park-But the time comes to admit, no matter what the park, that it's all good.
Complaining about Space Mountain is all well and fine, but the time comes, when at your base human core, you have to just relax those shoulders and admit it's all good.
Same for Epcot.
Same for Animal Kingdom.
The world is full of problems and hate- If one internet forum could agree, even for just ONE night, that Studios theme is just as good as the other four Florida parks, who knows if the entire world will fall in and calm the ^(&%^*$# down.
Ooo...I feel like giving the world a coke after this post!
I would not mind that.I'll say it again. DHS should have:
Pixar Place
Muppet Studios( Where the 3D is)
Lucas Land(Near Indy)
Marvel(Behind Disney Classics)
Hollywood(Classics, using Sunset and Hollywod Blvd.)
Disney Classics(Animation Courtyard Expansion)
Making Movies( Streets if America)
Help = What?
