The difference being that the cake really was temporary. I thought the models for the wand looked cool bug once I saw it in real life I was very disappointed with it. I expected the arm and wand to be a lot more 3-D than they are. Just the same, I was OK with it till I found out it was a permanent thing (still waiting for them to update the model you pass at the end of the ride on SE) The hat still doesn't make a lot of sense to me. If it is permanent, which I think we are all assuming it is, I'll probably grow to accept it since I can already see that it looks a lot better than the wand but I guess that's the brakes...
BTW, if anyone is wondering what I mean, by 3-D, if you have ever passed in front of Wide World of Sports on the highway on the way into WDW, there is a billboard there that has a mickey hand sort of holing it up. That's what I was expecting with the wand...

I think that idea of making the castle a giant cake, was great and cool! That way you could be reminded of the festivities the whole year! Then, get your pics and remember you were there for the anniversary! cool!:)

I thought the castle cake was a GREAT idea...very appropriate for a 25th birthday party...

I think the Imagineers need a thumbs up for that one....it was clever, it was poignant, and it was a friggin birthday cake...they made the castle into a cake, how cool is that!

And, unlike the HAT monster, it wasn't permanent...so if ya didn't like it, ya didn't have to live with it for long.

And Maria is dead on target with the pictures...anytime you pull out the album and you see the castle cake, there's no question in your mind...THAT was the 25th anniversary and I WAS THERE.

..AND just so I don't thread drift...I don't think it would be the best Icon as it represents a celebration, not a Park.

I was impressed with the wand until I found out it was staying put. The hat is really cool in and of itself, but I think its misplaced. It ruins the perspective when looking down toward the theater. The street looks so short now! It seems to be too much fuss for a temporary structure, so I guess we'd better get used to it.

I had to vote for Cinderella's Castle, but I am with the majority of people who thought the Cake idea was brilliant (so that comes 2nd for me!)

I voted for Cinderella´s Castle. It means "Disney" to me whenever I see a pic of it. I did love the idea of making it a giant cake for a year.

My vote deffinitly goes to Cinderella's Castle. Not only does it represent MK, it basically represents DisneyWorld in itself. When some people think of DW, they automatically think of the Castle because its such a big icon there.

It seems that Cinderella's Castle has the mass majority of the popular vote. Now let's hope it goes through the electoral collage. :D

US citizens don't directly elect their president. We vote for electoral college representatives, who then hold their own little convention and elect the president for us. (Because we are too stupid, especially those of us in Fla.) Electoral college distribution is based on population like the House of Representatives, but when a candidate wins a state he gets all the electoral representatives for that state. That's how Bush won the electoral vote (and became president) even though more Americans voted for Gore.

I could go on, but I'm sure no one would want that!
