Which Water Park?

I have a 7 year old and a 5 year ol;d, and I wqould guess that I have one shot to go to a water park (if it works out, then we will be able to go to the second one).

With kids these ages- both can swim, but neither will want to go nuts on a thrill ride slide- which park would you choose? I am considering theming, as well as appropriate attractions.

Thanks!

I would choose Typhoon Lagoon, there is more for the younger kids to do there. And most of the water slides they could handle at there age (except maybe crush-n-gusher)

The tropical atmosphere is very nice and relaxing for adults as well. And the views from the lazy river are wonderful.

I have a 2yo, 5yo and 7yo and we went to both this past spring, and while I like the BB theme, the kids were able to a little more at TL. They were excited that stitch made an appearance and the 7yo was able to ride crush n gusher. The 2yo and 5yo had a blast on the little kids slides and loved wading in the wave pool entrance. We also spent a great deal of time in the crush n gusher pool.

The BB kiddie area is better themed though imo its really fun looking. My 5yo told me as we were entering the parking lot... "mommy i forgot to pack my gloves" LOL :ROFLOL:

I'd also recommend TL for a different reason. It has more shaded areas, if there are occasions where you'd like your kids to get out of the direct sun.

You can't beat the theming at either park. Both have good activities for all ages. I would sum up each as follows (you can choose what best meets your profile):

Blizzard Beach
1. Summit Plummet...'nuf said, not for the faint of heart or soft of posterior
2. More large power slides and a family raft slide (Teamboat Springs)
3. Because of the theming, the whole park is a bright white. You need sunglasses and a whole lot of sunscreen. Shade is not always easy to find.

Typhoon Lagoon
1. Crush and Gusher - different levels, can be enjoyed by all but the smallest
2. Wave Pool - Can be a bit "big" for the smaller swimmers
3. Shark Reef - for most, get to swim with fish, a nice first snorkling experience.
4. Humonga Kowabunga - a smaller Summit Plummet
5. Numerous shady dining and drinking areas

both have lazy rivers, "beach" areas, water play areas for young children
