We are going to Disney in Feb. and we want to stay in two Disney resorts. Which two do you think we should stay at? We also don't want to stay at one where we have to spent $300 a night. Maybe something like WL.

Thanks

Hi....I would say any of the All Star hotels are nice...but they are basic rooms with a Disney flavor. You might want to check into PO, CS or CB. I think anything like Poly, Cont or GF are WAY too expensive.

Check out this GREAT website for rates: http://allearsnet.com/index.html

Hope that helps!

I'm a fan of Port Orleans. The Riverside section is nice, but it's pretty large (the same goes for Caribbean Beach and Coronado Springs). However, the French Quarter section is really nice, and it's not as large as Riverside.

The All Star Resorts aren't bad either. They seem a little cheesy, but they definately have that Disney touch, and you'll save a lot of money if you stay there. A benefit of staying there is that the bus service is a little better than at other resorts simply because the three All Star resorts are in the same area.

I can definately understand not wanting to spend a fortune for a hotel room. However, if you can find the time, it's worth it to at least swing by the resorts on the monorail and enjoy the atmosphere or get a quick bite to eat.

Hi Tori, resort choice would depend upon whether you are taking kids, and what their ages are. We LOVE the FW Cabins. With our two small boys(2 & 4) we find it convenient to MK and more of a "home" than "hotel" feel. We have also used discounts to stay in DAKL Savannah View for $200 a night. This is a very memorable place to visit, both for adults & kids. I highly recommend it. Port Orleans is nice, All-Stars are economical, yet fun. Everyone loves the WL. Again, biggest determining factor to me is whether kids & their age.

Hi Tori. I've stayed at the Contemporary and the All-Stars Sports hotels. I've been to PO-FC recently and it seemed VERY nice. Since the Contemporary is the first hotel and only Disney hotel I had the pleasure of staying at, for a long time, that's my fav. Trouble is...I can't afford it now! :(

Seriously though, I'd check out PO...it looked really nice.

Pop Century is the newest resort. It's a value resort, like the All-Stars, and looks nice. However, my first choice would be Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. Don't feel like you need to spend the $ on a savannah view room, as there are public viewing areas where you can enjoy watching the critters.

Let us know what you decide, then post a trip report and include your satisfaction with the resorts.

Enjoy!

P.S. I love the WL :D

 We've stayed at the Contemporary, Polynesian & Wilderness Lodge. I have 2 girls 15 & 9. We usually end up back at the WL everytime we try something else. Its the least expensive of the Deluxes, is close to the MK and just a launch ride away from the Contemporary to hit the monorail.

Why not try one of the moderates & a value, or a value & a Deluxe. You don't have to split the days evenly and the CMs will move your stuff for you.

The WL & Poly have nice pools & waterslides for the kids, the restaurants are very nice, too. My only problem with the Poly was that you had to go outside to get everything. Not good at night or in the rain. It is right next to the TTC so that worked out well for us.

Sorry I can't give you any insight on other Resorts, but maybe you can string the info together with that from the other members.

BTW Tori....I'm jealous that you're staying at WL. It looks awesome!

If you want to go for a Value resort, I'd suggest Pop Century. It's the newest of the resorts and definitely looks to have the Disney touch.

If you want to go for a Moderate, I'd try one of the Port Orleans resorts, or the Coronado Springs Resort. I've stayed at both and their transportation systems are fast and efficient.

Have a good time on your trip and I hope you enjoy your stay at wherever you decide to go to. :D

Tori, I would say FW Cabins. They can be had for around $170 a night with discounts. Full kitchen, separate bedroom, living room with a comfy murphy bed, deck with grill & picnic table. Nice relaxed atmosphere. If renting a car, you park right in front of your cabin. Really nice after a long day. If the kids love animals, Stay at DAKL for a night or two. It is amazing

I have stayed at the all sport and all music resorts the past 10 times i have been to Disney....10 times i have stayed there and it has been WONDERFUL! not the best resort but it was so great the service was wonderful and it was so alive in the morning seeing people with their packs in the food court for breakfast ready to hit the parks... I hope i will have as good of a time in PO since it will be my first time changing a resort this year... i am a little nervous i mean it's been like ten times i have stayed a the allstar resorts...

Remember to keep in mind one thing when booking a resort...

How much time will you really be spending in the room anyway? Especially with two kids, you ae going to be going out to Disney, and hitting the parks, DTD, the Water Parks, and the like... Whats the point of putting $300 a night to stay in the deluxe places only to spend 14 hours out of it? My advice is the Port Orleans Riverside, but maybe thats just because I am partial to taking the riverboat over to Downtown Disney...

Anyway, I'm sure you'll love any place you stay, afterall, there really is no BAD resort at Disney.

I've stayed everywhere except yach & beach, boardwalk, caribbean beach, and pop century. Each place I've stayed was wonderful and individual. In the end, I think you'll enjoy any one that you pick. Wilderness Lodge is beautiful and I think you'll really enjoy it. My favorite is the Contemporary but I know it's quite expensive (who knows when or if I'll ever afford to stay there again). The all stars and pop century are very well themed and a good value. Especially with kids I think they'd enjoy the theming. Caribbean Beach seems like fun especially if you like island theming. I had a roomate who was a lifeguard there and she loved it. Between Port Orleans and Coronado, I liked Coronado best. They're both nice, but I really liked the southwest feel. Although PO was fun because my family likes gone with the wind and we felt like real southern belles. Anyways good luck with your decision and I'm sure you'll enjoy whatever resort you pick. :)

Well, if you are looking to experience two, I would suggest doing Pop Century, Coronado or some of the others suggested, or after looking at the details, what appeals to you or the girls most as a theme.

Then try AKL, Poly or WL. At that time of the year, you can get rooms for about $200. Again, look at what theme most interests you.
