Which pizza to order at Via Napoli?

Just to be clear, I've never been there. I'm just trying to find out if its like a bertucci's or not.
Okey dokey! No worries. I'm on the fence on trying to squeeze it onto our list for August and can't make it fit anyway. I'll probably hold off until next year. We are pretty tough critics as far as pizza goes.

Definitely. And honestly, its pizza. We can get that anywhere. If you dine in the World Showcase, presumably you'll go for something you haven't had before.

If that's the way you feel (and I agree for the most part) than skip it. When we went they weren't taking ADR's and only people like the people on these boards even really knew it was open. We were on the dining plan but paid in cash and it wasn't even dinner. It was only lunch. Is it better than Pizza Planet? Yeah, but it's definitely not the best pizza I've had. As for the other dishes I can't really vouche for them although they looked good. For anyone who does go there though I strongly recommend the Arancini appetizer. So good.

I'm pretty sure that that picture alone has sold me on it.

If that was the case, there would be nothing for me to eat in the WS.

I don't think there is a single thing there that I cannot get locally

If its just a glorifed Bertucci's I think I'll pass. I am spoiled by NY style pizza around me. Not sure if anyone has heard of Pepe's or Sally's in New Haven, just 10 minutes away. Maybe I should stay away from Via Napoli afterall. Or just grab a slice at the takeout window if it's open.

I know other's have pointed out that the takeout window isn't the same pizza served inside so I'll leave that part alone.

The bolded part. I'm the kind of person that is made insane by the nagging what-ifs. If I wanted to try something then opted not to I'd still be left wondering. Ya know? Maybe if you don't have a meal you'd be willing to replace with Via Napolli you could work it like a light snack or smaller meal. Instead of ordering for everyone like a meal just go in and order a smaller pizza and a drink or maybe a small pizza and a tiramisu for everyone to share so it's more like a sampling snack. Then you get to sit down in the a/c, relax, and still get to sample what Via Napolli is like. Right?

I was one who vouched for the Quattro Formagio already. It wasn't just the pizza or the toppings itself that I thought were such a wonderful flavor, that crust really was good. How many pizzas are out there that the crust is note-worthy??? I'm not blessed to live near New York or anything where great pizza is readily available. For me, Via Napolli was truly one of the better meals I had during our 10 day trip last November. :slurp:

I say save your credit for some where else. I was there last December using the dining pln as well and my whole family was sorely dissapointed. The pizza had no taste and if you are lookinf for cheese Iuggest you asked for extra , extra , extra cheese as by the way they put cheese on thir pizza it seems its worth gold. Its a tomato paste pizza with cheese only covering 25% of the pizza. Then when saw the bil, $100 for 2 adults and one 3 year old child I could not believe it. Thankfully I had the plan because there was no way I would have paid $100 for that meal. There would have been a few mama mias shouted in that place. :ROFLOL:

I don't think it has anything to do with the value of cheese:lol:. It's simply the style of the pizza and not one that us as Americans are used to. If you want cheese you simply have to get the Quatro Formagio.:)

Must be nice! I live in the sticks and all I can get here is fried chicken... seriously we have one take out place in the whole town! That's probably why I don't make such a good food critic... the whole time I'm in Disney I'm just happy to be eating different foods! Part of the attraction to WDW is all the dining we can do while we're there!

Here's an idea: They should build a pizza restaurant at the American Adventure pavillion that serves all different types of American pizza, e.i. deep dish Chicago, a New York slice, etc. Then we'll all be happy!
