Which level of resort has better bus service?

Inspired by another thread, I wanted to start a poll about this. I think there are many like me who have experienced the excellent bus service at the Values, and the less than excellent bus service at the Deluxe resorts. Granted, it can be hit or miss for either category at times, but as a whole, for those that have experienced both, which has the better bus service - Value or Deluxe?

Sorry, clicked on Value when I should have clicked "have not stayed at both". :o Have only stayed at Pop Century, but have heard through friends and people on here that Pop Century has the BEST bus service on property!!! :sohappy:

I've stayed at values many times and I always thought the bus service was very good, then I stayed at the Yacht Club and the bus service was awesome.

The waiting for the busses at the Yacht Club involved sitting in benches under fans. Waiting for busses at Pop or ASMu involve waiting in a line.

The busses at the Yacht Club are nearly empty. The busses at Pop or ASMu were packed.

Overall though, I'm not one to complain about the bus service - I think its a very good service that Disney provides and they do it well.

I don't think you have enough options. How about "There's no real difference"?

I've stayed all over the place and bus service has been generally great. The exceptions have nothing to do with the level of hotel, be it value, mod or deluxe, it's been scheduling or breakdowns that have impacted the service.

As has been said, the waiting and crowds make it generally more comfortable at the Deluxe resorts, but that doesn't affect the service.

I think it is a tough comparison because of the number of stops. Pop Century has only one stop for the bus, so it is going to run quicker and more efficiently. The All Stars never have more than three and are right next to each other (these also run separate routes during busier times). The problem I find with the deluxe routes is the number of stops. While staying at the Polynesian a few months ago it took quite sometime to go to the Contemporary and Grand Floridian when we were going somewhere. However, I have heard good things about the bus transportation from AKL which would contribute to the stop situation.

Not sure on which of those two have better service, but I do remember one instance this summer while I was standing in line at HS waiting for a bus ride back to POR for our mid day break. I counted 6 Contemporary buses pulling up to the empty stall and then heading back out before a PO bus ever arrived. So I am not sure if that is an anomaly or if there are just that many more buses assigned for the deluxe resorts.

We stayed at Pop for 4 days back in August. The bus service was excellent and we did not have to wait more than 5 minutes for any bus. The service at WL and BC is pretty good, but not as good as that. As an aside, we waited at GF for 45 minutes for a bus to EPCOT, I finally got so upset, that I went to the company phone at the bus stop and called Guest Services to complain. Of course that was when I saw the sign that showed that there is no bus service to EPCOT from the GF. I promptly hung up and felt really silly.

I had almost an exact mirror experience. Leaving Blizzard Beach I saw 5 ASM busses before mine came for Poly. I guess it all depends on the crowds and the day. It's not an exact science - but I feel they do their best.

The level of the resort would appear to have no real bearing on the bus service. The set up, location, and size of the resort seem to be the determining factor. IMHO AKL and Pop century run neck n neck for the number one spot. Some of the worst bus service I have had was at the Poly and the Contemporary.

Worst I've had was between Poly and Yacht Club.
Best was Pop and All Stars.

Some of the worst bus service for myself was also at the deluxe resorts, the busses for the values might be more crowded but the seem to have more of them. When staying at a deluxe now we either use the monorail for MK and Epcot or we drive to DHS, AK or DtD.

Pop has been consistently good for us but the All Stars have been a bit hit or miss. When staying at movies the buses would always seem to come less frequently and the ones that did make it were close to capacity when they arrived.

I've had consistently great bus service at the All Stars, not so great bus service at the Contemporary, and "it was so bad I'll never stay there again" bus service at Pop Century.

The biggest issue with the Contemporary was that fewer buses came to the resort and always made additional stops at the Polynesian and sometimes a third stop at the Grand Floridian before finally heading to where it was going.

Pop Century had so many people coming and going it always led to long lines, significant waits, and very crowded buses.

The difference I find with the deluxes (and I'm a DVC owner at Boardwalk) is that there is always another transportation option: monorail, boat, or walking. We like the Boardwalk area because we can essentially walk to both Epcot and the Studios (granted that one take a little longer). That may, however, have an adverse effect on buses. This fall we stayed at Saratoga, which has boat service to DTD, which we never used. Too many bus stops there, and too isolated from just about every park. We used our rental car to go to the parks.
