Wow, this is a REALLY hard decision...

Star Trek is OUT from the start...but between SW and LotR...it gets difficult...

I finally will have to go with LotR, just because it has a deeper plotline, its more emotional, and well...it has better actors - ie: no Hayden Christensen.

If you'd asked this many years ago (when Star Wars consisted of episodes IV, V & VI) then it would be an easy decision. Star Wars episodes I, II & III have been a bit of a disappointment. Lord Of The Rings, for it epic proportions and attention to detail really wins hands down

I've got to go with Star Wars. Definitely one of my favorite movie sagas of all time! If there's one thing I can say I'm a mild geek about, it's Star Wars.

And speaking of Star Wars....I am totally addicted to Lego Star Wars for Xbox.

Star Trek needs new life.
LotR films were pretty good...

I voted Star Wars.

What about The Matrix? Indiana Jones? Pirates? Harry Potter? Spiderman? Xmen? Superman? Batman? :lookaroun

LOTR all the way - never got into Star Trek, and liked the original Star Wars best. Pete Jackson's adaptation of Tolkien was amazing to me though. Got to go to a traveling exhibition of LOTR costumes, weaponry, miniature sets last fall in Indianapolis. The artistic expression in those films is beyond compare IMO.

I really, really love star wars and all, but after reading the books and seeing the movies, I have to go with LotR, just because of the amazing plot and battle scenes in the movies.

Han Solo is such a scruffy-looking nerfherder! (Although, if you're into that sorta nerfherder...I can see why you'd think he was :slurp: )

Star Wars (sans Episode I)

Lord of the Rings

Star Trek

In that order.

Star Wars might have been a close second to LOTR had they never made episodes 1 and 2...but since they did, it is a distant second to LOTR, which in my opinion is the greatest film trilogy of all time.:sohappy:

gah! that's like asking a parent to name a favorite child!

I might just have to say Lord of the Rings, because both Trek and Wars have lost their way over the years. We'll see if the new Trek movie or Star Wars tv series brings either of them back to their former glory.

Also, Battlestar Galactica is swiftly moving up the ranks to be a contender!

Harry Potter? its a good series for kids, and i enjoy the movies, but it will never achieve the epicness (is that a word?) of Lord of the Rings
